Morning WB :) Oh blimey to the universal credit switch. Just when you'd got yourself organised and felt on top of things - flipping typical :(

Hope the food bank voucher is on-going until you get your payments through and not just a one off.

Glad you're feeling better from a MH point of view. I've always said they don't use sleep deprivation as a form of torture for nothing - it's horrendous. Mine have ended up in bed with us plenty of times so we could get a decent nights sleep and get up and go to work feeling half human. Don't think anybody will be judging for what works best for you.

    Have a good day. xx

    Thank you.

I just feel so greatful I'm in the place I am before being moved over. If this had happened 6 months ago it would have completely tipped me over the edge and I'd have lost the house etc with the arrears what they where plus another 5 weeks. That doesn't mean I'm not worried about the 5 weeks arrears I'll have now but I realise it could be so much worse.

The food bank voucher is just for one visit tea. I'm going to try and hold off as long as possible before using it.

Waiting for the smalls to finish school. Have set up some craft activities at home to keep them busy.

Hope you've all had a lovely day

I'm sorry that you have been UCed so to speak.

I'm also glad that this didn't happen any sooner for you as it would have been more difficult for you to get through this starting period.

Thank you PB that was my first thought when they said it should have happened in October. There's no way id have managed. I am worried but it could be worse.

    Morning :)

No update as no money in or out.

No plans today either. Have a quick appointment at the GP this morning but then nothing else planned. I think I might go for a walk if the weather stays dry. It makes a huge difference.

    Happy Friday
Hope you all have a lovely day

Just a quick thing on Universal Credit...

Needing an advance is fine, repayment is over 10 months so you know excatly what you would pay back.
The problem comes when people see the amount they can get as an advance without considering how to pay it back each month.

With the advance you could always try and manage as much as possible and then if you need any money just take £50 and see if that lasts and if it doesnt ask for another £50 and so on rather than taking more than you need.

Most people in my job role hate UC but I can really see the benefits for a lot of people............

You should get the same amount of UC as you did your other benefits and now you have moved all bills to DD i think UC will really suit you.

Thank you cherry the sun is shining :) for now. Trying to make the most of it before it goes into hiding again!

EE I don't want to take any advance as whatever the monthly repayment is will have to come out of the grocery budget going forward. Which is already 'only'. £100 a month for the 4 of us. It would be for the rent I need the advance 5 weeks rent is £500 nearly. And at £50 a month that halves our grocery/everything else budget to just over £10 a week I don't feel that's sustainable for several months :o. As the gas/electric is on direct debit I won't need to top up weekly which is a huge benefit to the direct debit. I do think after the initial waiting 5 weeks though it will be helpful for me and less worry. As like you say it comes in monthly and all the bills can go out monthly. That then leaves the £100 grocery budget to last until the following month - it's the only thing I need to keep an eye on and budget is the grocery spends. I think it will be near enough identical to previous amounts. Maybe slightly more depending how much they take for the tax credit 'overpayment'

    Sorry that's really long :o

    Thank you
