Evening,
We've had a long day out. We went to the family fun day at a local country park. Free entry and I took pack lunches, snacks and drinks. It was free entry so a NSD. Personally I didn't spend on the rides/food etc but the cost of those where eye watering. £5.50 for a hot dog? £5 each for a balloon! Rides where £4-£6 each! I'm glad the smalls found enough to do with the free things and the park was more than enough to keep them happy. All home now bathed and ready for bed. I think I'm ready for bed too!
Hope you've all had a lovely Sunday

Hi WB
Glad you all had a nice time at the fun day but  to the cost of everything. Those prices are eye-watering and would definitely be in the league of me not paying on principle
I shall be getting my PJ's on shortly and settling down for a night with the TV. xx0 -
I know Tea it was shocking, I was surprised how busy it was too! We bumped into someone who's DS is in youngest's class at school and she said they'd only been there an hour and spent nearly £60! We where there about 5 hours and spent nothing
and smalls seem to have had just as much fun. We just spent it over on the park and where the emergency services etc where giving talks rather than the rides/game stalls.

I can imagine it wouldn't take long to get through a fair bit of money.
If the smalls had each had a hot dog, a balloon and one ride, which doesn't seem that OTT you'd have been coming home £45 lighter.
Well done on taking food and drink with you and it's lovely to read the smalls had just as much fun in the park and meeting the emergency services. xx0 -
Blimey I wouldn't have bought those things either . What a rip off . I'm glad your DC had a good time
. You've brought them up to appreciate what they have and not be demanding and obsessed with consumer goods.
My DC never asked for designer trainers, etc, as they knew we couldn't afford it and now they're all very careful with their money and don't waste it.
So I think you're teaching your DC the value of money and that fun can be had for free. Which is an important life lesson and will hopefully stop them getting into debt when they're older.

Well said from HH. I don't know why these places charge so much when most normal parents with children are short of money, it's so unfair. Well done for resisting xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Good morning
Thank you, HH DS has his moments now his friends are into all the brands. DS was gifted a jacket recently though and he literally lives in it! :rotfl: and they do tend to have branded trainers but only what is under £20.
Anyway onto today. No plansI think we will just spend the day at home pottering round and getting things ready for the week. We have a pretty full on week with appointments and things. I also have a meeting at school tomorrow night.
Hope you all have a lovely day

Meal plan (We're a day behind because we had random stuff last night as it was late)
Monday - Roast dinner
Tuesday - Chicken & Veg Pie (Late night at school)
Wednesday - Chicken pasta/salad maybe?
Thursday - Chilli
Friday - Jacket potato
Saturday - Spag bol
Will make tomorrows pie today as I have the late meeting at school, plus I don't know how long the electric etc will be off why the meters are changed (it says around 1 hour each meter)
Chilli/Spag bol will have enough left overs to have some 'ready meals' in the freezer to carry forward.
If the change in my purse is still intact Wednesday I will call in Mr L1dl for some fresh salad if not it will be a pasta bake instead.
Today will be about making the snacks - usual flapjack and biscuits as they are the favourites.

Morning WB
A day of baking sounds lovely and at least you'll be warm - I've just pegged out and it's freezing out there
It's only maybe the past year that DS has started asking for branded stuff - I actually don't think he's that bothered really but likes to look the part when it's non uniform or school trips.
Your meal plan sounds lovely especially the chicken and veg pie - yummy.
Have a nice Bank Holiday. xx0
