“Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”

So we decided to risk it and get out the house. Walked to the park and the smalls played while I read my book. I don't know why that makes me feel like I'm being less lazy than sat at home reading
But it wasn't actually that cold once we where out and moving
They are eating pizza they have made before I get them in the bath. A bit later than usual againbut we didn't go out till quite late.
I'm going to sit and sort the girls small toys back into the right sets and places tonight - a rock and roll Saturday night:rotfl: and I think I'm going to have a search for things to do with youngest for 'school' work this week (hungry caterpillar is what she'd be working on in school)

I'm glad you got out to the park, it will have done you all good to have a change of scene and some fresh air
.
We'll just be watching tv tonight, so not too exciting.

Sounds like a nice day WB
It's been freezing here and windy as well so apart from a bit of shopping we've spent the day inside.
I love The Hungry Caterpillar, I bet you find loads of things to do with DD2 for her school work.
You're bumping up your energy pot nicelyxx

If you have a piece of A4 paper, fold it in half lengthways, then fold twice again to form 4 sections. If you fold it the right way it will make a small book, that gives enough pages for a title page and 7 days of the week. This will allow your DD to create her own copy of the hungry caterpillar, counting out the right fruit etcpaydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thank you HSL that's a brilliant idea. I have seen some ideas on Twinkl too I'm going to copy.

Evening
Sorted the girls small toys back into the right places. Cleaned the floors and things and now I've just come to bed with a cuppa.
Hope you've all had a wonderful day

I was relieved you are keeping a bit back for emergencies or other unknowns, and obviously you have managed on a lot less than that but it will make such a difference if something comes up. On the other hand if all is quiet it will eventually make a nice boost to the utilities savings account!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

yes, the "government issued ID" seems to be a lot of places.
very surprised someone was able to fly with a citizen card.
on a side note, if your youngest (i think it is), has DLA or PIP, could you not apply for a bus pass for them? or you as a carer? my thinking being you have to travel for appointments etc. same as blue badge, when i was younger my mam had one, and was used "in the course of" things i needed etc.
now i have one in my own right - and use it in with anyone who may drive me anywhere.
i have a bus pass (i dont drive), due to disability, at first my local council gave me 2x 1 year ones, but the current one is 5 years, and runs out next year. really useful as i can't just get off stops earlier and walk, so eg, i may get 2/3 buses to get as close to "door to door" as i can, rather than like i say an AB (able-bodied) would just get one bus and walk the rest of way.
it's totally free (tickets say zero fare), except if its before 10am i think it is, when it costs a flat 30p..
some older folk do tend to abuse the system it has to be said, i have seen them wait till the 30p fare ends, get on bus, and seen them multiple times throughout the day seemingly never getting off. as if they using the bus as a "ride out" which makes me worried that if its overused it may get withdrawn due to council cuts etc!0 -
You can use a Citizencard for domestic flights but not to go abroad. I don't know if Paypal would accept it but it may be worth asking

Thank you DB, we did get help with bus fares when she had DLA. However until we've had the refusal over turned we don't right now. I will definitely appreciate it when we get it again though.
PayPal won't take the citizens card though so I am going to save for a provisional as soon as I can.
