Giving it your best shot is all you can do WB, just don't be too hard on yourself if it's not possible. You're working with a lot less than most people even at the top end of your budget of £30. xx0

I'm glad things are going better for you Wannabe
.
Good luck with getting your food bill down, it's not easy but you're very good at meal planning and cooking.

I am on the Prepay fix until September 20 - they estimate my usage at £39 a week between both (which is around what I use as I use the emergency credit every week) However someone is calling me Monday to discuss swapping from the prepayment to a monthly DD.
It can't harm to talk to them. I would agree about taking a monthly meter reading and submitting it, though - I have reminder set on my phone and take a photo of it each month and submit the reading on that. (Bad experience with a previous supplier - never again!)WannabeFree wrote: »My water isn't metered, I still agree being a meter would be more expensive - we use a lotHowever there is a support tarriff which if I could get would make it nearly £2 a week less.
Deffo avoid a meter like the plague in your situation! Again, there's no harm in finding out about the support tariff. The savings off that would cover your mobile bill monthly if nothing else!WannabeFree wrote: »TV license - I think its wrong. I read online that it would be the £5.60 for the first 12 months then it should be £5.60 a fortnight not weekly - if this is correct I think I'm about 5 months in front of where I should be. I will call them Monday morning.
That would be a great saving. I hope it goes in your favour.WannabeFree wrote: »ETA - Phone credit - is actually £10 a monthbut I keep 'borrowing' the £2.50 I set aside meaning I need to keep catching up. I upped to the £10 a month when I got rid of V1rgin as my phone is used for all we watch/listen/use the internet for etc. I realise a sim only contract could be slightly cheaper but not being on a contract means if I need to use that £2.50/£5 for food/taxi etc I can and it just means no credit for a month, not a bill I have to catch up on.
How much of what do you get for that in terms of minutes/texts/data? Perhaps one of us will have seen a better deal on our travels.I take it you are with Virgin from what you have said? Are there any networks where you can't get reception in your area?

Evening
Smalls enjoyed their roast and are all bathed and in bed.
Going to do some cleaning and things - I'm sure there will be a few brews and catching up on here in between.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend
