  • Hey WF sorry to hear that things are a struggle again - but what excellent news about the tenancy and the very comfy bed!

It does sound like it's high time that people were taking a look at a full review for youngest, and looking at things with fresh eyes particularly in the light of treatments evolving and changing all the time, can only be a good thing. Fingers crossed that you'll get some answers really soon.

I'll echo whoever said to take a look at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation - I've no idea of the detail of what they do these days, but there is absolutely no harm in looking into it and finding out - social investment is a big thing of theirs, that I do know, and they will certainly have links to organisations in your area that may be able to help you.

Hope the hospital goes well next week - I’m not surprised you’re all over the place with anxiety etc.
Would school help with costs of emergency after school cover?
So what colour is your new quilt and what colour are you doing your bedroom? Sounds like you’re enjoying the comfort of a bed - which is just as it should be

There is usually use of a kettle Tea, I really don't know until we know where we are going to end up.

School haven't emailed back but I have found my invoice from last time and providing it hasn't changed price its £18 a day (for the two of them not each!) They will get breakfast and a snack after school too. Will mean they are at school 7.30am-6pm Long days :o I have asked for 3 days initially saying it could be more depending what happens hoping its just the 3 days. Will take some snacks with us too and I'll just grab whatever is cheapest - I don't eat 3 meals at home anyway only 1 so I'm hoping it works out.

    I'm thinking for 3 days
    £54 for school
£15 for dinner for smalls for the 3 evenings
    £10 coffee (1 a day) :o Shouldn't be budgeting this really
? Not sure about dinner for me, will try to grab toast I think.
? Travel - hoping to taxi to school but walk back and then walk to collect and taxi back - I will make it the smalls won't that early/late!

I'm sure there will be other costs chucked in but I like to think I have a plan ;)

Have cleaned and packed some things, have been for a walk - such a lovely day!

Put pasta bake on for dinner, smalls are just playing cards while it cooks then another early night I think :o

Thank you for all your replies :)

Milann I think the bedroom is going magnolia/cream I think cheap and cheerful!

    Thank you EH and Tea

Feeling a bit better now I'm more organised :)

Going to download the kindle app onto my phone if I can work out how and then I have free books to entertain myself too. Don't want to pay for TV :o I think its around £25 for the TV top up!

    Dinner time :)

I don't eat three meals a day either but please eat properly. You cannot exist on toast.

You have worked so hard to pay off your debts. It is just not right that you are still struggling like this.

Things are a lot easier now TF money wise. I don't want next week to see me falling behind/carrying any extra debt now there's no reason too.

I think the food on offer is quite expensive for what it is. Even sandwiches where really expensive when we where there last.

Hi Wannabe. I have just been looking to see if I could find any organisations giving financial help to families with children in hospital and found a list at

    https://www.chfed.org.uk

The Hospital Saturday club gives grants for hospital travel. Might be worth a try.

I also noticed that the family fund holidays are available to families on low income not specifically DLA. It might be worth checking if you would still qualify for for your holiday.

Sending you a big virtual hug x

Loving how happy you are with your new bed!

You know when you say you are moaning, I see that as just normal worries about the things you are having to deal with ;)

Now I could teach you proper moaning :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

If you took bread and an easy filling could you make a quick sandwich up whilst you were there?

What about the neighbour who was helpful with the Christmas tree - are they trustworthy and helpful and could maybe help out with childcare? I'd like to think someone could ask us if they lived next door and needed help.

Good idea to download the Kindle to keep you occupied. Also, if you have access to a kettle maybe you could pack some cuppa soups/noodles, just to have something warm during the day.

Hope you manage to keep on top of things with your money. The breakfast and school clubs always seem expensive but then if it means parents can work, for £2 per hour on average they're very good value.

We had a little girl who was in hospital regularly and the school never charged for her siblings to go to after school club when she was in. I have a feeling it wouldn't even be worth asking your school about that though :(
