Oh blimey. I thought it was all systems go and you knew they could accommodate the eldest two as well. Guess it's just a case of wait and see at the moment then which must be really frustrating.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the new bed. :) xx

There will be a normal bed Tea, we need an HDU bed available (there's only 3 here at the local and no PICU here) would mean going over to the Children's which would be a disaster and I'm not even thinking about that happening!

DD should get a side room as she's immunocompromised so being in the bays is 'high risk' but obviously they can't guarantee anything until you're there. Think this is why it makes me so anxious :o

I love the new bed. I count down to getting back in it :rotfl:

Having been watching Hospital I can sadly believe they cant guarentee a bed.
Try not worry about it too much.
Easy for me to say I know :( xx

Just been on the Hospital Saturday Club website and they don't do travel now just equipment and they only deal with the recommending organisation not the individual...sorry.
I wonder whether the hospital social worker might know what assistance is available for families in your situation.

When you have a bit more time it might be worth checking out some of these organisations to see if you can get some grants for the equipment you need for DD.

Hope you have a good night and glad you are enjoying your new bed x

Glad you love your new bed :)

On the coffee front, if you've got access to a kettle, could you take sachets if it's latte/cappuccinos you like, this would save money. I only drink black coffee but hate instant so buy Sainsburys Taste the Difference filter coffee bags, they're £2.65 for 10 but work out a lot cheaper than a take out and just as nice.

When Mr SA was in hospital for 9 months he got TV for free when he was on the blood cancer ward but not on the neuro ward. I bought him a cheap portable DVD player so he could watch DVDs. It's absolutely disgusting expecting hospital patients to pay for TV, especially Freeview channels.

Red Cross are good at providing equipment, might be worth a try?

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

  • Thank you :)

    Morning

Sat waiting to be called into my appointment.

Have topped the gas and electric up. Good job as we where in the emergency credit!

Considering going to the supermarket for snacks and food to take in with us. It's not a no spend day anyway as had taxi fare to my appointment.

Hope you all have a good day

Morning WB :) Hope your appointment has gone well. I would buy a few snacks and things while you're out and about. Even if you don't use them next week they'll come in handy at some point. I'd take as much food as you can with you, it costs a fortune to eat and drink in hospital - as you know :o

Hope you all have a lovely day. Sun is shining here :) xx
