Thank you EH, just giving the smalls lunch and then going to call shelter. Smalls have bounced and ARE going to school tomorrow
I'm going to try and get it sorted and an answer as soon as possible. I need to deal with it now as I know the low of it all will come after thisbut this time I will be prepared and have sorted things in advance
not like last time

Good luck Wannabe, hope the calls and meetings go well.0

Glad the smalls are bouncy again! Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. Nothing to add to the advice that's already been given but Shelter are pretty amazing and with their backing you are going to be in a stronger position. xI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you Cherry.
Okay I have made arrangements with Shelter to call in on Wednesday but its 13 miles away in the CitySo hoping I can change it to over the phone rather than face to face. This gives the HA time to get back to me what they want from the review.
Still waiting for the HA to email me what they want from the review.
I think my options are increase the payments. I told them I really can't afford to right now but that could change. I obviously can't pay it all in one go and made that clear too.
If we can't agree to something I can afford/they will accept then I will have no choice to go to court. I will get help with the court costs but not the fees the HA charge for attending court but it would just be added on to the debt like the other fees are. So at least I don't need to worry about finding money up front even if it means the debt increasing. Still rubbish though. But I can deal with it.
At least I know I shouldn't end up homeless. Got to keep it together.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
Nothing is ever easy is it
How would you get over to Shelter if that's the only way to do it. Fingers crossed they can advise you over the phone especially if they know you've got school pick up times to run to.
Like I said, I don't know anything about this but if it goes down the route of a payment increase try not to panic and offer a big amount just because you think that's what they want to hear.
Hopefully by the end of today you might have a better picture of where you stand. x0 -
I've sent you a PM. x0

You're making progress

Wannabe, if worst case scenario and you end up in court, given that you have always paid when possible and when you haven't paid it's been for good reason, you might be able to ask for no order as to costs, i.e. that each party pays for themselves so you don't have to pay for the HA's costs for attending. No guarantees that the judge would agree but it's worth asking, I think.
Edit: I'm sure the people at shelter will be able to tell you more about this and to see if it's an option for you!:oDebt Totals July 2019::

Thank you x I'll reply to pm now Tea, was it just my MSE that wouldn't work?
Shelter seem to think if we went to court it would go back to the £12.50 originally agreed.
I just want them to accept the £25 a week I'm currently paying to be honest. To save any hassle and worry“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -

Debt
Council Tax £137.50
Rent arrears £1295
Credit card £0
Total £1432.50
Weekly Out - Budget now
£125 to rent
£12.50 to Council tax arrears
£25.60 to this years council tax
£10 Gas
£15 Electric
£11.40 Water
£5.60 TV License
£1.25 for phone credit (£5 a month)
£7.50 for Virgin
£3 Snack
This leaves £30 and odd pence for food and everything else weekly
I can't really see anything I can majorly cut back on than I already am.
Once the council tax has gone I could do this but it's still less than they'd like.
[STRIKE]£125 to rent [/STRIKE] £143.75.
£25.60 to this years council tax
£10 Gas
£15 Electric
£11.40 Water
£5.60 TV License
£2.50 for phone credit (I will need data etc now no virgin will be using my phone for netflix etc)
£3 Snack
This leaves £30 and odd pence for food and everything else weekly
Maybe if I put this to them it's a little short of what they are asking and they'd need to wait a while before starting. I have no access to credit now to swap it from rent arrears to another debt. So I can't get a loan or anything my credit rating/income it just wouldn't happen.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0
