Well yes of course it was...how else would he of expressed his displeasure...can hardly write a memo can he.;)
Obviously he could have said he wasn't a laborer and instead a skilled ground worker to which i would have said sorry mate im new to the job, didnt appreciate the difference,my point previously was yes sometimes you need to sort out bad blood between grown men and if that means both men knowingly have a stand up and hit each other then whats the issue.
If one side isnt keen and walks away then good for them...im not talking about bullies,im talking about situations where aggression is met with aggression, sadly the labour loving soft shoe wearing fairies cant see that,do i care...no im sat at my desk passing the day at work.
When someone is aggressive to you on the situations ive described you cant cower in the corner crying as you"ll be laughed off the job,you stand your ground..if you can diffuse a situation with humor or apology then great, sometimes that just dont work and you gotta just do what you feel is right and screw what the law says.0 -

To 'grip one's !!!!!!'.
Auto censor prevents link from working:
"
Grips my !!!!
When a person or act is found to be so annoying that it actually creates discomfort, almost as if someone is gripping internal organs.
He really is beginning to grip my !!!!."
Maybe I could be considered unreasonable, but I just wanted peoples perspective on circumstances at work that drive people to lash out at others. And I did get that from most responses so cheers to those that answered that way. Such stuff can happen and we are only human. For many people there is a breaking point, and it's where that point lies which is to be regarded as reasonable or not. It will vary from one individual to another, and from one circumstance to another. It's not black and white.
I presume you could have just said "colic" or "causing extreme abdominal or lower belly pain" to by- pass the auto censor. That would have been clearer.
But why would that make you want to hit a work colleague?0 -
You hit someone, youve lost control. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Let's just concentrate on this.
You say here, directly, that yes, it was right and acceptable for a groundworker to throw a hammer at you for calling him a labourer. "Because he couldn't write a memo".
Let's just restate that.
You think it is right and acceptable for a groundworker to throw a hammer at you for calling him a labourer, "because he couldn't write a memo".
You want to stand by that or retract it?
Please don't ramble and complain about political correctness or tell new stories. Just state simply whether you stand by that or retract it.0 -
where ever you work you will always get a few kn##heads and when I was younger I used to bite but now I don't get mad I get even and play them at there own game they soon get bored0

I’m so confused by this thread, does the 6 foot tall, 20 stone chap with blue eyes want advice because he gripped someone penis at work in a violent manner because he’s a repressed homosexual?
Edit, was it the same person who then threw a hammer at him?0
