  • Well im going to say YES..depending on the environment and circumstances.

Depends where you work and the type of people your working with...i wouldn't expect an Office worker to grab a college around the throat and hit him whilst waiting to use the water cooler.

I have however seen this happen on a building site..guy was taking the !!!! with kettle, not allowing others to use it (insisted on making all the Agents in office a brew) who only had a 20 minute window to eat and get hot drink...bloke was picked up and chinned.

Ive had reason to smack a loud mouthy labourer who was showing off in front of Ground workers and brickies (driving Forklift at that time)..sadly if you dont, you simply encourage others to stop asking for XYZ and then find its "oi you ***** i want XYZ and hurry up ****.

Some environments it happens and always will happen...unless you've worked in such a place you wouldnt understand.
  • Is that a picture of Jeremy Clarkson you've got as your avatar?

If so, I love the irony ;)

Only cost him/BBC £100,000 for that punch...

Hmm - I know a fair few of those places. And this sort of behaviour would be treated no differently than anywhere else - the chances are that you would be dismissed. Take a look at any of the large construction firms these days and they have very strong anti bullying policies. And they use them. Because, like any other employer, they prefer not to spend their time in Tribunal defending themselves. The world has changed. Not 100% yet. But I wouldn't recommend anyone test your theory.

Id be surprised if you was on the tools sangie or indeed a lever puller...as said unless you work in that environment, its hard to imagine.

Sorry but your talking about Bullying...who mentioned bullying, two blokes squaring up after a bust up or someone getting slapped is not bullying...its how certain men choose to deal with grievances.

Errrr... Is that some kind of "euphemism"? I Really don't know what you mean! Try English?

If someone I didn't want to be "gripping my shoot" did so, I'd be complaining to the police first.

    Thumping them would be secondary...

I've never heard that before either.

I agree entirely. It's how men (or women) looking to get dismissed deal with grievances. VIOLENCE IS ALWAYS BULLYING!. I'm sure that there are still a few Neanderthals around. Genetics say that is true. VIOLENCE is a dismissable offence and a criminal act. And you think it's right to recommend it to people? Shame on you. Your advice is pitiful...

Oh here we go the high horse post..lol

I did wonder how long that would take...very predictable.

Building sites..night clubs working the doors....just to name two environments i've worked, sadly its a world away from a cosy office where Ralf annoys Roger by not putting the milk back in the fridge,so Roger writes a memo and everyone toes the line.

In some work places you need to have stand up for yourself or you wont last 5 minutes, you have shown me you dont have the first clue nor any experience working the type of places i've worked...so no you dont and wont ever understand.

I stand by my original post and yes there is 100% occasions you've gotta do something nice shiny shoe wearing people like you would disapprove of...you trying telling a Ground worker there a cheeky chap and wag your finger at him,you would be laughed off site never to return or if you've peed him off then you would be laying on ya !!!! wondering what the hells happen.

You believe in what you believe is right or wrong and i"ll do the same....;)

Fine by me. When someone is sacked for following your advice, I hope that you will be paying their way. But you won't - because you are trolling and know nothing at all about employment law.
