Is it ever OK to hit someone? (no troll)

  • (and lets be honest us both having worked on building sites know how quickly they get annoyed...well you said you had experience yes..!)
    .

I've worked on building sites, back in the day when we had to unload an 11000 brick artic by hand before the days of pallets and hi-abs. (I've also worked in a factory and picking tobacco and other robust environments). What you are saying is bullocks, and perhaps reflects more on you which, based on your punchy, chippy style, here, is no surprise.

One of my team-mates in my women's football team works on the doors, and if she ever got herself into such a situation as you describe I'm sure she'd consider it a failure to judge a situation. I've done voluntary stewarding at the old Wembley Stadium and Arena, Stranglers concerts and the like, and never had a situation that an admonitory grin couldn't handle, or letting the punks pogo, linking arms with my friends to hold them back but keeping the atmosphere fun.

We all appreciate not everybody can manage that, and some people are just looking for an excuse to do damage.

I'm sorry but if you don't know how to AVOID violent situations, then you should not be working on doors, because that is a professional skills that bouncers are rightly proud of - avoiding situations that they don't allow to arise.

You appear to think that violence is an acceptable solution. When the police pick you up, or you get dismissed for your violence, then you'll have nobody to blame but yourself. So you go ahead and do what you want. Lash out at people or smash them in the face. The consequences are yours. Violence begets violence, and if you don't know what to do to avoid being in that position in the first place, then you either aren't very skilled at your job, or you enjoy it too much. That is, of course, assuming any of what you say is true, because, of course, it's easy to act big and "tough" on here - for all we know you are a 4 foot 2 inch weakling who wouldn't say boo to a goose.

As for the OP, the answer remains that if he acts violently against his colleagues, he will almost certainly be dismissed, and will deserve to be.

You dont seem to grasp that when someone is !!!!ed off becuase you have dare block the road lifting a pack to the brickies and they cant tramp past...thats not looking for violence, but you sure as hell have to deal with it when someone wants to have a go...not much point in waving a finger at them.

The point i have been making no matter what you do..sometimes its unavoidable, you either !!!! yourself and run off and tell mr manager or you deal with it.

Regards your female mate working the doors,if she hasnt had that id be staggered...either that or she is on a soft door.

I wouldn't know the first thing about them...only been in the job on and off for the last 20+ years, and Bouncers are now non existent as its all far to soft and fluffy now days as opposed the days when Door staff could actually do the job.

Sangie its not the size of someone you need worry about...but as your obviously keen (please no more PM"s requesting photos im married) for the record im 6.ft and 20 stone blue eyes and all my own teeth.

The fact that you even need to ask is a bit worrying! I'm sure you know the answer and the consequences if you were to do it. There are annoying people everywhere in life but hitting someone won't make them change. You might feel better for a few minutes but what when you are arrested for assault and sacked?
You can't be happy feeling so angry. Find a way to chill and don't let things get to you.

Of course you are. I believe you. Like I believe that violence doesn't get you sacked. You seem to really like the idea of violence. Worrying. Let's hope you really are trolling.

And I don't have a female mate working doors. You are so busy trying to prove that your opinion that violence at work is ok, you can't read. Violence against another person, even if they start it, is still against the law. All it means is toy are both breaking the law - not that it is right. We've come a long way from the Neanderthals. You appear to be stuck there.

You're not old fashioned. You're not conservative. You're not clever either.

You're in your late 50's, past it. You may be 20st, but it stopped being muscle years ago. Now you like to relive your 'best' days but promoting outdated views.

I can tell you that any construction firm worth anything (ie, more than a local builder with a few bodies) would have you marched off site with-in minutes.

See this :grouphug: this is what you and Memo boy should do...your opinion means nothing to me.;)

Just so we're clear I also dislike the extremist left ideology of pigeon holing everyone.

Being right wing, doesn't mean being violent. You are the reason why, when I say I voted brexit, or voted tory, I get looks of shock....

So you 'gripped his shoot' in the expression of this thread, and he turned to violence. Do you think this was right and acceptable of him?
