  • Evening all. Managed a few hours off work today so got out and did some jobs:

Last of Christmas cards bought, rest were from value shop last month. Wrote a list of what I had so I didn’t buy duplicates, will hand deliver all apart from one, where they are too far away but will appreciate it arriving with a note. So I don’t mind the price of a stamp
Shopping list, both at SM and local warehouse. Not going to WH until after Christmas as it’ll be too busy, so planned spends accordingly
Got 3 presents from sm, will move spends over from present pot
Bought my Christmas ham that was half price, put in freezer
Got some ys milk and bread and froze
Tidied whole house, vacuumed through and changed the bins.
We now have skirting and door on our room :D
    Must pay man for ^^
Walk out tonight, be good for my headspace.

Hope everyone is good. Take care of yourselves. Purps.

    Morning all :)
((Hugs)) Ziggy, I hope you are ok :(

Didn't have a great night's sleep, woke up stressing about OH and DD who is shortly to give birth - silly I know, but I will be so glad when OH has had his MRI scan (and hopefully nothing serious is found) and new baby arrives safely!

So, I am a bit slow off the mark this morning, but so far I have:
    Walked dog
Found 5p on the road :j made me think of Bobarella and her roadkill :) Miss her, hope she is ok.
Packed an ebay parcel to post later
Listed 3 more items, may do more later
    Swept conservatory floor

    Still to do:
Small supermarket shop, must do this as I put it off yesterday Done, should have gone to Lidls rather than Sainsburys, but OH wanted to come (his first time out of the house for more than a fortnight) and I thought Sainsbugs would be easier to get round. Blimmin expensive though
Post office with ebay parcels Done
Pharmacy for stuff for OH Done
More housework Got as far as tidying the kitchen :o
    Walk dog again Done
Check banks again, as only half of one of OH's pensions seems to have arrived for some reason. May need to find paperwork and look into this :(Sorted, change of tax code apparently. Will get sorted at tax return time.
Check for surveys later Just a couple for onepoll so far
All HM meals, beef fajitas tonight :jYum, enough left for a lunchtime wrap tomorrow, too :)

Afternoon all, hope everyone is well and coping as well as they can with life's curveballs.

I was up late last night as I collected a new batch of cards so I was busy prepping them for Amazon. I still need to upload but I'm felling a bit sluggish today, I have taken pics while the light is good and will do everything else later, I think I'm definitely a night owl nowadays!

DS turned his nose up at Mr T chicken Kiev last night so I have disguised it as a chicken burger for lunch today

No Black Friday reduction on my rug, Beans, so I had to order at the regular price. After using Amazon vouchers though it only cost me £6 :claps: I am really pleased with how little I have had to spend on presents this year thanks to Job Spotter!

I do need to pop out to buy something for the secret Santa at work. I'm thinking a birthday book (or diary) and then a box of my cards :D I will do a bit of Job Spotting while I'm there, a couple of people have posted on a local FB group about jobs in the town centre (for people that are looking) so I know there are some new ones.

The kitchen is looking clean and spacious after yesterday's efforts, definitely good for the MH.

I took stuff out of the freezer for a roast last night then realised we were out of stuffing mix, I will pick some up and do it tonight instead.

Have a good day all :)

    Hello Friday Frugalistas,
Useful sort of day. Stress levels quite high so haven't enjoyed it as much as I might have done, but never mind, because as Scarlett O'Hara said "Tomorrow is another day!"
*Washed bed linen on heated airer. Ok, it's using pennies, but nowhere near as many as when I used to bung it all in the spare bedroom & crank the heating up to 6.
*Cleaned all of downstairs using minimal products & washable cloths.
*Perused Body Shops's Black Friday deals to see if my favourite moisturiser was included in the 40% off. It wasn't, so I signed out before temptation struck.
*Had another look at the inexpensive extra item I was thinking about buying for the nephews. £1 off today, so ordered it.
*Picked fresh parsley from the garden.
*Made a good start on wrapping presents using the rolls of paper I got free last year & recycled gift bags, ribbons, tags, etc.
*Finished writing shopping list for tomorrow.
    *Did 2 surveys.
    Have a nice evening, everyone.

Dawn - re drying bay leaves. I cut them for drying to give tge tree a bitnif a prune to be honest, but you're right that they are not as hardy in the north. I've only lost one completely to frost. That was quite a big tree but it objected to that v cold winter we had a few years ago when we had temperatures of - 16 overnight a couple of times.

  • Good Morning,

I have been up early as DD has been coughing and I have one ear out as I think she might have a chest infection.

The week has been a good but expensive one.

Dentist I am lucky and have good teeth and never needed much dental work £60 lighter but I can claim all of this back from health cash plan. I also went and ordered new glasses as I have been feeling the eye strain in the last week, the new glasses were £390 :( but get 50% with contact lense scheme and again health cash plan should pay some towards, so currently £190 hopefully they will get cheaper. Plus loyalty points too so I can treat myself later in the year. I need to post the receipts today.

Black Friday a couple of bargains, I got some smellies for £3 each my childminder, I would avoid giving gifts they give to all the families and children so a small token is required, I'm pleased as I have found in the past these are the gifts that catch you out and you can over spend on. I also bought my mum a kindle fire and headphones, she is due to have eye surgery soon and is struggling to see the TV and use her laptop so hopefully will help and she can have a audio book trial etc.

Rubber chicken all week and left overs yesterday, I need to see what we have for today.

Tomorrow planning to see Paddington it on the Sunday am showing which is £2.50 each, I will get snacks today to take. Then a birthday party for DD so low spends, gift was purchased ages ago and card from stores.

Christmas shopping is complete and has been mostly paid for by surveys, I have started wrapping, although I need to head up into the lost as the Jan sale purchases are up there and wrap them.

  • Morning all :hello: up and at ‘em today as we’ve friends over later so cake already in oven. Other things:

Watching cricket on free subscription for 3 months on DH phone. Ok screen small, but saving paying for a subscription for the tv
Radiator shuffle whilst heating on for an hour
Resisted buying extra food for friends, will make spaghetti Bol from mince in freezer instead anc crumble with some ys pears I got last week
Dd to dancing, subs already paid
    Ys bagel for breakfast
Walk in local beauty spot later if we want to go out with friends rather than anything expensive. Take snacks.
Downloaded a free book on to my kindle from kindle library :D

    Enjoy your weekend folks.
  • Hi guys :) meant to post yesterday but was feeling under the weather so went back to bed for half the day. I booked the day off of work as had plans with a friend but ended up being too ill. I did tidy round once up, listened to audio book & sent ebay parcel. Worked out finances as was payday....

Had a play/coffee date for madam after school and decided instead of being a masochist and baking something while under the weather to just walk to the shop and get some biscuits! ;)

Today still taking it easy but intend to:

    * madam and oh crafting a gift for me
    * dd coming round for the day
    * want to have 30 mins in the garden continuing with tidy up
    * might bake a cake
    * audiobook & knitting at some point
    * fish & chips for tea :)
    * refund ebayer a couple of quid as postage was less than I thought it would be

    Think that's all today
