Afternoon All,
Not the most productive of days - I've got great hopes for tomorrow & Friday in terms of getting caught up with stuff & generally getting things done. Awoke with a headache this morning & no amount of caffiene, healthy glasses of water, sensible snacks, sit-downs, paracetamol, fresh air, etc, has shifted it, so I am going to call it a day & relax until bedtime....maybe a hot bath might help.......mr f says he's bringing 'medicinal' biscuits. So this is pretty much it for today's money saving exploits:
*Used up some leftover wraps from last night & froze the rest before they could morph into cardboard.
*Did the ironing - as usual, picked through it thoroughly & only pressed what really needed it to save energy....also I hate ironing.
*Used a single leftover piece of frying steak from freezer to prep a stir-fry with noodles for tonight. Once you cut meat up, it's amazing how much further it will stretch meal-wise. Still using our home-grown peppers which I sliced & froze over summer.
*Dessert will be hot poached cinnamon pears.....again from big batch-freezing session when we had that huge glut of pears.
*Parked on outskirts of town & walked to where I needed to go. Saved £1.50 on car parking charges & got some fresh air & exercise at the same time.
*Entered a competition.
*Did a Prolific Academic survey - £3 earned for that.
*Wrapped 2 ebay parcels (recycled packing materials) & posted them.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Changed bed linen - all now in WM waiting for a half-price overnight wash.
*Started making tomorrow & Friday's job lists. I really need a productive couple of weeks, never mind days!
*Christmas decorations all finished, might knit some more of my boot socks later tonight, might read, might just sit around eating biscuits & moaning about my headache.
Cat is outside on the wall telling all the neighbours that we don't feed him. Marvellous!
See you,

Morning all

Nice day today, if chilly!
So far I have put in a load of washing, tidied the kitchen, wrapped an ebay sale item and walked the dog
Still to do:
A bit in the garden, hoping to finish off raspberry bed
Pick some beetroot and spring onions
Peg washing out on line once finished
Print out some stuff
Any surveys that are available
Need a few bits at the supermarket, must keep an eye open for any cardboard boxes suitable for ebay packaging
Give the dog his wormer pill (not especially moneysaving, but if I write it in here, I won't forget it!). This requires a small piece of cheese to help it down
More housework, OH is asleep so can't put the hoover on yet
Walk the dog again
HM meals, planning jacket potatoes and salad tonight

Afternoon all.
Once again I'm back, feeling frazzled, but slightly more "with it" than last time. Feel like I might be getting there, wherever there is...
Todays little money saving things;
~ Log cals in free app to keep me accountable which usually stops me from overspending on food...:o
~ Took lunch to work and actually ate it and didn't go out to the cob shop despite my colleague microwaving some gorgeous smelling food that put me off my rather bland lunch..
~ Walking to work and back and to the shops to save petrol costs.
~ Holding off on buying that ONE thing I actually need which is on sale right now just incase they reduce it more tomorrow. :rotfl: unlikely as they're currently calling it the "black Friday sale" ... am I being over ambitious?
That's all i can think of for now...
Be back later.
Beans x0 -
Beans, I have the rug I'm buying my mum for Christmas in my Amazon basket but won't dare click until tomorrow.
Talking of which, most of it will be paid in vouchers earned on Job Spotter!
I be had a fairly productive morning doing some kitchen cleaning, I feel guilty not working but it will be good for my mental health. I did pop out to buy a mat for by the door but bought a cheaper one than the one I would ideally like and also some No More Nails to fix a panel that has fallen out of the garden store door. Oh, and I bought a mini antiviral tree as my real one has carped it after several years of service.
I had McJunk while I was out (this post isn't money saving at all!) so as not to interfere with my ongoing kitchen clean up.
We have decided to have Christmas here instead of going out (there, that's money saving!) and I've decided I'm going to just buy slices of turkey from work to reheat as I will have to drive to collect my mum.
We also left the steak restaurant without eating last night and went home for a sandwich, £24.50 for a fillet steak!!!!! It used to be a H@rvester and they've done it out very nicely but I'm not keen on paying for their refurb for them!
Oh, well, more kitchen cleaning for me...Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
Hi, back again to report useful productive day:
*Checked ebay re-listings. 1 new watcher.
*Did 2 surveys, a competition & a prize draw.
*Updated budgets & swapped some funds around to keep all my different 'pots' straight.
*Small change rounded up for shrapnel box & 2 x 50ps paid into new sealed pot.
*Baked a granary loaf.
*Re-filled little snack boxes with dried fruit.
*Postie brought JL free coffee & cake vouchers for new year. Put them away safely.
*Checked online to see if a planned Christmas gift item is back in stock. Nope! Will keep checking as 20% off at the moment.
*Made labels for the jars of home made preserves I'm giving as gifts.
*Restored fountain pen to working order. Have bought 3 biros recently which have barely lasted a month, are not refillable & are just more plastic for landfill. Going to try going back to pen & glass bottle of ink.
*Did next week's meal plans.
*Did audit of herb & spice cupboard. Added bunch of sage I dried on kitchen beam, also thyme & picked a bunch of bay leaves to hang up to dry in their place. Will top up spices from world food aisle as usually cheaper than buying the tiny jars.
*Upstairs tidied & vacuumed. All bins emptied. I am not a housewirk fanatic by any means, but I agree with 1LL that clutter leads to mental clutter so it felt good to have a big tidying away session.
*Dinner feels like a free one ssbit's slucy chickpeas I batch-cooked a while ago while we had a courgette & pepper glut. More hot cinnamon pears too.....pear glut.
*Downstairs heating off till 5pm. Not felt chilly today as been busy.
*Decide whether to shell out £5.99 on an additional present for my nephews.....only a silly thing I've seen, but it would be massive fun on Christmas Eve. I'll see if I'm going to be Nice Aunty or Scroogey Aunty.
*Knit more of my scrummy boot socks tonight.
Another productive day planned for tomorrow.
Talk to you then,
DNMS - hope you are ok.

Evening everyone
Mine is not a completely money saving post either but even though I was so close to going into Costa today I did avoid and came home to make food instead.
Was up and productive early today. Cat cleaning was all done first thing as I needed to go out to the next town (interesting journey a number of roads closed due to flooding).
Bought a new vacuum as my old one has quit!. Usually buy a refurb one off eBay as they take a battering with the cats. Needed to go to argos anyway, their value vacuum looked really good and had some excellent reviews. Used my vouchers so no direct spends and still have vouchers left for the sales.
Took me 5 minutes to put the vacuum together and it is excellent, so light and easy to use-downstairs all hoovered.
Also got myself a value stick blender as I know I am getting a slow cooker for christmas.
Posted a parcel and RM survey item while out
Tec@s I was really good and just bought required cat food
Looked online and found a coat for Prague that DD and DM are buying me as an early Christmas present. £35 off as it's a black Friday deal so both DD and DM are happy. They were beginning to panic as I just couldn't find a suitable coat with the budget they had for me.
Packed up another two Christmas bags last night, just can't find a couple of my mum's presents, they'll turn up at some point I'm sure!!
It is much colder here but heating just kept on low just to take the chill off
Think that's about from me
Have a good evening everyone xxDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Back to update:Morning all

Nice day today, if chilly!
So far I have put in a load of washing, tidied the kitchen, wrapped an ebay sale item and walked the dog
Still to do:
A bit in the garden, hoping to finish off raspberry bed
Done, dressed with compost (free, made from garden waste in a plastic dalek thingy
), little fencing panels erected to keep dog off, path swept and cleared up some of the leaves
Pick some beetroot and spring onions
Done, had them with this evening's salad
Peg washing out on line once finished Done, dried, folded and now in airing cupboard
Print out some stuff Done
Any surveys that are available A couple for onepoll so far - but the night is young
Need a few bits at the supermarket, must keep an eye open for any cardboard boxes suitable for ebay packaging Decided it can wait till tomorrow, so scored a NSD :T
Give the dog his wormer pill (not especially moneysaving, but if I write it in here, I won't forget it!). This requires a small piece of cheese to help it down
Done
More housework, OH is asleep so can't put the hoover on yet Put away huuuge box of lego that GD had tipped out the other day in the loft conversion / top floor spare bedroom, hoovered and dusted middle floor/ storey, washed bathroom floor
Walk the dog again Done
HM meals, planning jacket potatoes and salad tonight
Also did some paperwork for my little business.
Listed a new ebay item, would have been two, but the photos didn't load on the second one
Don't like what they have done to the phone app recently, it now seems to have less functionality than it did before
Did lots, but stupidly felt really anxious and stressed all day. No idea why  Feel better now, and just really have the kitchen to clear up after dinner - I am not a housework fanatic by any means, so I don't know why I got stressed about it!
Foxgloves, I never bother to dry bay leaves, as I can just pick them from the little tree outside the front door anytime I want them? Perhaps because you are further north it is necessary to dry them?
DNMS, thinking of you xx
