Wow, I'm pretty sure Prothet of Doom was joking! Hence the sarcastic 'it'll be fine. or not.'Oct 2013: -12,382.89

Made a small start, now it's time to really tackle this debt!0 -
I just start mine in the microwave, then like others finish off with a final twenty mins in hot oven to crisp the skin. and the oven 'dries' the potato out a bit, giving a fluffier inside.0

Stab several times with a fork, wrap in a sheet of kitchen roll (not sure why, just habit), programme microwave to Jacket Spud setting, take out, cover in drizzle of olive oil, salt & pepper and put in hot oven for 20 mins0

Thanks all.I'll try it out today.0

the other trick for crispy skin is cook the potato in the microwave then cut in half and pop under the grill, skin side up, for a few mins.2019, move forward with positivity! I am the opposite of Eyeore :rotfl:0

I microwave them for 5 minutes each side.I don't put them in the oven or grill to Brown or crisp.I don't have a seperate grill. It's part of the oven, and it seems a waste to put it on just for that.
Thanks all.0 -
Like loads of you, I start mine off in the Microwave - but I finish them off in the Halogen Oven as it heats to temp almost immediately
. No point in putting the oven on / heating it up for 10-15mins etc just for a couple of baked spuds.
Of course, if it's already on for something else, then they can go straight into it
