You’ve never heard of google?
A quick search for Tesco Mobile PAYG and all is revealed.

The easiest way to switch to a different pay as you go tariff is through our free pay as you go app. You can also switch online in your My Tesco Mobile account.
There's 3 tariffs to choose from - Rocket Packs, Triple Credit and Lite.
Once you've logged in:
Go to My Tariff and choose the tariff you want
Click Action
Click Confirm
Or you can call 282 free from your Tesco Mobile phone and follow the prompts.
Click on Lite, and it says:Pay as you go Lite call charges Close Article
View a full list of our rates (PDF opens in a new window).
Our pay as you go Lite tariff is great if you use your phone occasionally. It's a simple tariff with a flat-rate charge of 8p/min for calls and 4p a text.
Only existing customers can switch to the Lite tariff by downloading our free app, online in your account or by calling 282 free.

But then it’s easier to complain replies are pointless because people don’t run around after you when you can’t even manage a simple google search...

No one makes another poster look foolish, it’s more a poster’s own foolish posts that make a poster look foolish...
Try and have a little bit of initiative.====0 -
if you would have posted that reply (minus the condescending attitude which seems so prevalent in your approach) then i wouldnt have called your post pointless. anyway it appears that all which was required to get you to help me out was ruffle your feathers. thanks!0

For calls, yes. 5p vs 8p on Tesco Lite. Of course 3 PAYG is cheaper than both at 3p.====0 -
you need to ensure you don't have any PACKs active.
which take money off your credit and get you an allowance over a week etc.0 -
My OH is on 3 payg - I put £10 on it 2 years ago and she still has a fiver left (she is so tight!)- you just need to make a call/text every now & then to keep the number active.
You don't have to buy the 'bundles', just top up when needed.0 -
gonadgranny wrote: »Hi there. Is there such thing as a pay as you go sim which works like they did in the good old days where you would buy credit and it would last as long as you wanted? i bought a pay as you go sim and found out to my annoyance that it was not pay as you go as i remeber it because my minutes and texts were wiped after a month. so basically a rebranded contract...
Many available, Three, o2, Tesco as you note, Vodafone etc.
Note that there are only four mobile networks - Vodafone, EE, o2 and Three - everybody else (Asda, Tesco, Giffgaff, Talkmobile etc) uses one of these networks, called piggybacking. Tesco piggybacks onto o2 for example so if you can get an o2 signal where you are any o2 phone or provider that piggybacks onto that network will work.0 -
Pay as you go has evolved and there's now several types of offer. The most popular are the large bundles of inclusive calls, text messages and data. Most providers offer a variety of these including deals with unlimited calls and text messages.

Still available are deals where calls are paid at per minute rates, messages are paid for one at a time and data is paid for by the megabyte. The rates for these are quite high meaning quite modest usage often makes it cheaper to instead go for a deal with an inclusive allowance.

Three is probably the cheapest payg if you have a smartphone: 3p per minute 2p per text and 1p per mb.
If you want free calls and text within network, try White calling, works on EE network, calls are 4p or 6p depending on whether they are landline or mobile, texts 5p, and I think data is about 2.5p per mb but if several in the family have them the free calls and texts within network is very useful.
Nearly all payg networks offer old style payg - bundles are optional0
