When did Free Speech disappear?

Now if the 'no' voters tried to overturn the 'yes' vote - you know, like some of the EU referendum remain vote losers are trying to do with the referendum result.
Well, they'd have something to complain about.
....and of course if the vote had been 52% / 48% in favour of remain I'm sure UKIP would have happily accepted the result as the will of the people and wouldn't dream of campaigning for another referendum.0 -

I think immigration should be reviewed and controlled because of long-term consequences for our environment, economy and cultural cohesion. Not because I "just don't like it".
I find objections to say, gay marriage, puzzling because I just don't understand them. It's not enough to say "it isn't right", you have to show evidence for negative repurcussions eg:
No gay marriage = many law abiding citizens financially and legally penalised for loving each other.
Gay marriage = what exactly? Who on earth is affected in any way by the legal status of the two blokes living next door?
And why get hot and bothered about gender neutral bogs. Surely a much bigger issue is why there aren't more free, clean public toilets available. Or that what we flush down them causes real pollution problems on beaches and further out.
I agree with you, apart from the bogsI prefer separate toilets, I don't want gender neutral toilets, but the problem is, if you say that you get accused of being a dinasour, amongst other things. Why? Are people not entitled to view their opinion without getting name called? Why does your (general) opinion hold more weight than mine?

Free *speech* is one thing. However, the Equality Act 2010 ensures that our *actions* aren't discriminatory against the following protected characteristics:
age
disability
gender reassignment
marriage or civil partnership (in employment only)
pregnancy and maternity
race
religion or belief
sex
sexual orientation
You can *think* whatever you like about the above characteristics but you'll quite rightly get in a whole load of trouble if you *act* in a discriminatory way.0 -

ˈbɪɡət/Submit
noun
a person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions
Which make you a bigot if I understand you correctly!!
Censorship is bigotry.0 -

But isn't the problem when 2 or more of those clash? It could be any 2 but it's usually sex/gender and religion? How can both have equal status when one has to "give way" to the other?0 -

I thought people didn't talk about anything else on here! In fact that's what people accuse the media, political parties and Russian bots of feeding us with to stoke up the tension.0 -
