Day 1 - could have been very successful but fell at the last fence. Made a pasta dish for lunch then remembered have all day training so put it in the fridge for tomorrow, as lunch is provided when training goes over the lunch time. (which would have sorted day 2 as well). However my bit of the training finished at 11.45am so I dont get any!
Tonight is better though as have a mystery dine planned which saves on speding and also saves me from wanting to go out to dinner later in the week.
Good luck everyone.....another happy bug.........sorry,blogger embracing the simple life0 -
So day one was Saturday for me and I cooked a huge roast Turkey with enough left over for sandwiches etc and then yesterday was sooo tempted to hit speedial for the chinese but didnt' - cooked a lovely roast beef dinner - today - had lunch out but this didn't cost anything as us 'ante-natel' girls - our little ones are 2 now but we met in ante-natal class when we were big and fat (in a lovely way) well we all take it in turns to host Mondays - last week was my turn and I secretly organised a bouncy castle (could ill afford it but the kids were in heaven - so money well spent) and today it was someone elses turn - we only do little things like french bread and salad - but it just makes the difference of someone else preparing it and having great company and the kids playing - I love Mondays0

Oh dear what a waffle that was and I don't mean as in the food .......... okay so for tonights dinner we are going to have southern fried chicken (cooked in the oven) steaks with jacket potatoes and grated cheese (my son goes mad for grated cheese - he'd steal it off your plate) with a little bit of savourt rice and some of those cook in the oven baguettes - wonderful.
What is everyone else having tonight ?!?!?!?!? We do have yoghurts and ice cream in freezer for desert if anyone feels like some after. Bless my son - only just 2 but loves and I mean loves to make cakes - for his second birthday I brought him a Thomas Apron - well at around 6.30am on Satuday morning he went to the bottom drawer in the kitchen and got it out and started pointing to the cupboard that I keep the cake mix in am I'm like maybe a little later ....... ugh-ugh - he wanted to make cakes there and then - I let husband have a lie in but he was awoken with the smell of baking cakes wafting upstairs !!!!!!!! Won't be long before son is cooking me a meal ;-)))0 -
So far so good!
Almost, so very almost, stopped at the Chinese on the way home from work tonight (worked late!) - only had a fiver in the purse and didn't want to go to the bank to get more cash and then drove past the chinese and it was closed!!Close escape!
Chucked a couple of Iceland pizzas in the oven - 20 minutes later done - and £15 saved!! :T0 -
It's half term next week, and DS (he's 17....) lurves takeaways. I'm going to take him to Asda to choose 3 to have during the week. Any recommendations?? He loves Chinese, I love Thai, we both love Indian.
BTW, we were so regular, our local Indian sent us a wedding present:rotfl:

you get it from the chinese supermarket (there usually is one in every bit city) the thai sauce we just use what ever one we find (still trying them all out) but jimmy's i would swear by actually most restaurants in scotland use this sauce (as far as i know) ..hubby says he does the chicken in a chicken wing sauce (from costco) it does taste lovely ...you add water to it jimmy's first mixed with water add to that honey and peanut butter and thai sauce (optional) to taste would thoroughly recommend it

Cheers! There isn't a Chinese supermarket near us (not a big city in sight!) but I'm sure to come across one soon although visits to big cities usually=shopping which I'm trying to cut out! Ta for the picture!
Another no take away day for me - soup for lunch, and another night of Loyd Grossman pasta - that's 3 in a row! Think it is maybe a pregnancy craving or something, and also the fact that I'm trying to avoid going shopping means that there's nowt to eat in the house (except my Loyd stockpile!). Hubby had lunch out at the soft play today, but he was there with his dad and he paid which was nice (as well as rare!), so I let him off!
Glad everyone is still keeping at it!0 -
OH took me out to pizza express, he paid but i even had pudding. oops!
