If you didn't want to assist, why bother posting your question in the first place??
  • Er, because my question was pertinent. If OP had been ticketed for accidentally displaying her blue badge incorrectly or forgetting to display it at all, I would have helped.

The Newbies faq thread explains that appeals to IPC companies are destined to be rejected. But that doesn't mean their tickets are "enforceable".

Similarly appeals to BPA members may be rejected however there then is popla to appeal to.

Ultimately the only way the charge can be enforced is by you losing in a court hearing.

Unlikely if you stick to the advice here!

Don't you think you should be aiming the reply above to the OP?
Unless you are the mod for this public board then I don't see why you should be illegally policing who can post on it or not, unless of course you have your own agenda motive?
You are just going to have to like it that I and others may or may not post on here from time to time and may agree or disagree with your view point, which may or may not be correct the final descision is always with the readers. :p

A difference of opinion hardly amounts to illegal policing

OP, as I understand it, you parked in a disabled space when you had no entitlement to do so.

The PPC can take you to court, and there is a possibility that the judge may agree with them. If so, you are looking at about £200 to clear the matter. You do not have to pay this, but if you do not, there may be consequences.

However, you may be able to fight this and win. Their signs may be deficient, as may their contract with the landowner, the PPC may not do court, so many ifs and buts. Without full details, location, PPC name, date, details of paperwork, etc., etc., eic., no-one here can advise.

If that's the OP's real name, then they need to edit it before giving any more details.

I agree, however I wonder why the said person gets on posters backs who may not share the exact viewpoint that he shares, it doesn't really affect his day (or maybe it does), at the end of the day folk will post their opinion/viewpoint and it is up to the OP which route they wish to follow.

Just like you all or most respondants have suggested appealing.
Just like you some understand not all appeals are sucessful.
Just like you some may question the validity of an appeal.
Just because some question the validity of an appeal does not mean they agree or disagree with the penalty attempt.

DUTR, I have more time for the OP than I do for the private parking industry. She may be silly and selfish, but PPCs are evil, I wonder how many people have killed themselves because of their actions.

Often, before I got a BB, I struggled to find a parking space in Reading while there were dozens, yes dozens, of empty BB spaces.

OP - give us as much detail as you can about the parking event and we will help. We especially need to know which PPC this is and what communication had taken place so far (if any) between you and them
  • Yes I agree both silly and selfish it was purely a 1 off action 1 I wouldn’t repeat, I’ve signed up today for some advice which I have received so thank you
