You don't need to supply both, just some paranoid folk on here think you do. Driving Licence and Birth Cert will do. Heck there are even folk born and bred in this country that don't have passport or driving licence and still are able to work as long as they can prove who they are.

Also I wouldn't think twice about emailing passport/driving licence copies as long as the job is legit and not just one of those dodgy scam agencies that advertise jobs that don't exist. As said above, you are unlikely to have your email intercepted.

I doubt it. Redaction of a scan is not tampering. Anyway, if the applicant is that paranoid then maybe they should have a rethink about the employment situation with that particular company.
