Pre-booked holidays with new job

When should you mention what pre-booked holidays you have? The interview or the job offer?

Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Absolutely at the interview stage. If you tell them at the job offer stage it's entirely possible that the job offer will be withdrawn if your holiday dates cause a problem for the company. The more notice they have, the less likely it is that the dates will cause a problem.

Thanks both. Saw different posts saying different things so wasn't sure.

I view it from the interviewer/employer side. The sooner any constraints are known, the better they can be handled. Worst case a job offer won't be made because the holiday dates can't be accommodated, but generally they can be worked around with sufficient advance warning. To me, that's better than offering a job and then having to withdraw the offer because holiday dates can't be accommodated at shorter notice.

Your normally asked at interview stage about any holidays in say the next 6 months.

Tell them at job offer. They should have asked it at your interview. Puts you in a stronger negotiating position if offered the job. Prepares now to put on my tin hat and get slaughtered by the boss loving Daily Mail readers brigade.:o

Bearing in mind that the new employer doesn't have to honour prebooked holidays it's not really up to them to ask. I'm unclear where the strong negotiating position comes from.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

They have decided you are the right person for the job by offer stage.

Accommodate holidays or move to the second best candidate.

if at interview stages there are clear indications that holidays could be an issue the bring them up.

sometime you can pre-emp by asking he right question re: training, projects travel etc. without giving the holiday requirements away to early.

You make the holiday a contractual obligation of accepting the job.
