Money Moral Dilemma: Should I ask my girlfriend to pay me?

I inherited a property that required extensive renovation. My OH took a total of a year off his regular job to do it up. I gave him a basic weekly wage then a lump sum when it sold.

OMG i hope this isnt my sisters friend - she dates blokes from different trades to get her houses done up - then sells them and dumps the blokes! The stories I have been told, there was a conservatory man, a plumber, electrician and a builder or two! amazing how much money she saved by dropping her knickers! She then moves away from them when she sells and starts all over again!

But on serious note - i would say your girlfriend is taking advantage of your good nature as she selling on the houses so its her way of making money out of you. If you say you want paying and she takes offence or dumps you then she aint the one for you! There are a lot of lovely ladies out there looking for a good hearted bloke - keep looking! xx

I'd invent a 'rush' job that meant you had no spare time for her houses for a month and then see what happens...

No, you're not wrong. Either it's a joint venture and you split the profits between you, or it's her venture and she pays you as she would pay any other builder. Any maybe you give her a good price because she's your girlfriend. Otherwise, she's taking advantage of you.

Yes she should pay you!! Its not the same as her phoning you in a panic saying her tap has broken or something and can you fix it as a favour. If shes buying houses to sell on for profit, she's looking at you as a freebie builder.....
