Put shampoo through the hair & give it a good massage before you wet the hair-makes it easier to wash out.;)0 -
My first post so be gentle lol.
When using a paint tray line it with an old carrier bag. No cleaning involved.
Wrap clingfilm or a cheap food bag around your paintbrush handle as well for easier cleaning.0 -
keep your aftersun in the fridge - takes any soreness away really quickly!I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

Measure how much water you need for the cup/mug you use, then put only that much in the kettle when you boil it (may need a 'base heater' kettle, so you don't need to cover the element).
Counsels of perfection:- if your habit is to mash the next cup as soon as you finish the last, when you pour one, put the right amount for the next one in straight away. That 'soaks up' the heat left in the kettle and cools it down so that (a bit) less heat gets lost between cups.0 -
I agree. Also run the tap for a few minutes so you don't get the standing water. I always think free-flowing tap water to be far healthier than water that has been standing in a plastic bottle for however long, in the shops and before that in a warehouse.
I agree! When it's really hot weather, I half fill a bottle with water lay it on an angle on its side & leave it to freeze(make sure the water doesnt block the top of the bottle)
I can then top it up with water which stays lovely & cool without it being too frozen to drink. You can always put more or less water in as suits your needs.Nice for long journeys!Do it with juice for kiddywinks.:A0 -

Try it with pineapple and watermelon chunks too, just make sure they are in a single layer on a baking sheet or something while they are freezing. Great for cocktails without the nasty diluting effect of ice cubes, and if you have enough cocktails you might get your '5-a-day' of fruit.;)0

a stick blender that won't melt in hot soup is genius! Buying 3 tesco value ones in as many months is not.

If only I'd read this before getting a new blender a few weeks ago! I decided a cheapie would keep me going for a bit till I could get the Deluxe one that I really wanted to get. The first time I used it for soup ( I only ever use it for soups and sauces... HOT ones!)
Will have to get expensive one now, as the other one is no longer hygienic. I reckon I have actually made enough portions of soup that the cheapie paid for itself. Such delicious soup as well...... Pea and ham, leek and potato, turkey broth (after the big event!) carrot and coriander, mushroom.
Might actually keep it for doing stinky stuff like the onion, garlic & ginger paste for curries."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
