I have just come to the end of my Flexitol Heel Balm (as mentioned on the soft feet thread). It was quite expensive for the amount you get and as it is very thick I decided to cut the tube open. I reckon I will get at least 4 night more out of it! Have never thought it worth while to do it with toothpaste though.
Have now found Boots Own version bigger pack and less money. Will have to see if it is as effective.0 -
I've found that Asdas own washing up liquid works brilliantly and is selling for
2 for £1 at the moment0 -
thanks TropicalTopaz - shame there's no ASDA close to me... grr! Still, I have lots of Fairy left over from last year (half a bottle I am using now, then I have another bottle), so I will see if I get to an ASDA in the next couple of months...
Any other suggestions for good washing liquid and washing powder that don't cost the earth?
Many thanks & keep the tips coming!MFW #185

When I'm using the bathroom I feel much happier with the mirrors misted up!0 -
I use a big paint brush specifically for dusting the worktops, straight into the dustpan/bin/ back in the flour bag
When I disassembled the old white melamine bedside tables I kept one side to use as a pastry board. Now I just pick up the board and shoot all the bits of pastry, flour etc straight into the bin.
(Also v. useful since chopping the leggy bits off chicken joints when I was tired one night. Looked down at the joints sitting on my countertop and thought "wish I'd used a chopping board. Dayamn!!" )0 -

My tip, carry a Swiss army knife (with corkscrew, obviously) everywhere, but remember to leave it in the office when you're in Court, as I didn't do once!
Remember to take said Swiss army knife *out* of your pocket and put it in your suitcase when flying abroad! (Saw huge bowl of confiscated penknives next to the scanner last time I went through Theifrow.)0 -

Thats a great idea thankyou! I sometimes use baby oil after a bath or shower, so I spray some of my favourite perfume onto my hands as I apply it. Handy if you have'nt got the matching body lotion-the fragrance lasts ages on your skin.0 -
Rubber gloves: to avoid long nails piercing the fingers. turn them inside out and stick a bit of sellotape across the tips, then turn them back out. The tips are now much stronger.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

When trying to get get paint off paint trays - use cheap baby shampoo and your tray will look like new.
I God knows how this happens since the shampoo is supposed to be sensitive to baby skin but it aint sensitive to paint.
I'm not sure if normal cheap shampoo will work but i suppose no harm in trying.
This just comes in handy if your are using the one paint tray for different colours of paint in the same room.
Meant to say - this works on brushes too.
