Another thing i do is, when i have finished cooking dinner in the oven and have turned the oven off, i leave the oven door open. I have a tiny house, and the heat leaves the oven and spreads through the kitchen and all downstairs. Takes the chill off a tad, if you dont want to put the heating on
Upcycle is recycling but making better, so say you had an old baggy plain t-shirt but needed something a bit more dressy for going out you can upcycle it, here's an example of something really simple but effective.

Other things like taking in trousers that have old fashioned straight legs or boot cut and Skinnying them.
Or maybe your OH bought those pretty floral coloured shirts that were in fashion for 5 minutes, you can do something like this.

an easy upcycle is take an old woolen winter coat, add more fashionable buttons and a velvet or fur collar and cuffs, it goes from plain boring to fabulous.0 -
I think the toilet paper one is a step too far for me, but im not knocking it (lol). I know some OSs make their other halfs go when they are out shopping. My biggest saving is with my grocery bill. I try to bulk buy things on offer, buy YS stuff and shop at clearance places, i also bulk out meat, etc with lentils and grated carrot. I love the flask idea, have about 10 cups a day, thought about doing that myself. How can you tell a good one that keeps things hot, are they graded? I have a water meter, save money on that. I walk instead of car bus, whenever possible, its healthier, cheaper, i use cheap vinegar to do cleaning and as fabric conditioner, i only put bleach down toilet once a week. I use a steam cleaner, but might cost more in electric (??), never leave gadgets on standby. My worse thing is heating. Ive only recently put it on, and only use 2 storage heaters to heat 3 bed house, but its very warm, so im going to as of this week, try putting them on every other night, as it not needed.
Gibson i love the upcycling thing. I presently have two big bags of clothes which i was going to recycle, as they are a bit rubbish for charity shop, im going to grab and see if i can do anything with them.0 -
Savedosh, it's amazing what you can do with your old clothes. If you are on Pinterest you will get lots of ideas, if not just use google, the best thing is that even if you mess up, there is no harm done. I am going to be changing some plain jumpers that have shrunk in a bit and are just a wee bit tight into cardigans.0

I don't really, but I have read posts by people who do.
I have IBS so when I have to go, I have to go. You can't afford to be fussy!0 -

Was always quite a good shopper but have to be more so now...and have learnt a lot here.
I have found Wilkinsons own brand flasks are really good and better than the brand everyone usually thinks of when buying a flask. They say stays hot for 8 hours but I have found mine can last 12 hours and more. If you still have anything left inside that long.

Popperwell i very rarely go to Wilkinsons, but make a trip once in a blue moon, am on a Fiscal Fast until mid next week, so might go Thursday or Friday - thanks for that.0

I have one that i bought from Asda for about £4 last year. As long as i keep it sealed inbetween pouring, it stays warm till about 3pm.
Then, when making dinner, say its pasta, the water that doesnt get put into the saucepan for the pasts, get added to the flask for my cuppa (or 10!!) during the evening.0
