When our son was young and money was extremely tight, I used to decant supermarket own ketchup into a Heinz bottle
Our son never knew and never said it tasted any different :D

Well done Mr LDS. I wonder who has the biggest crisp mountain? I am admitting to have enough to last until they go out of date in Feb, but we do not eat that many. & 12 packs to do 4 chrispmas pressies for family as joke pressies.

    Don't wrap them too tightly!

Mystifies me as to why people stuck on brands such as Heinz:rotfl:.

Why not 'value' ketchups? Are they still not cheaper even after price on Heinz that is being discontinued?

(I think there is something I am missing:rotfl:.)
Our GC seem to prefer Heinz, given a choice.
Sometimes there is quite a difference in ingredients between a branded and non-branded item, so perhaps they can taste that difference. e.g.
Heinz: Tomatoes (148g per 100g Tomato Ketchup), Spirit Vinegar, Sugar, Salt, Spice and Herb Extracts (contain Celery), Spice.
Tesco:Glucose, Sucrose, Whey Protein Concentrate (Milk, Soya Lecithin), Hydrolysed Whey Protein Concentrate (Milk), Cocoa, Flavouring, Whey Protein Isolate (Milk), Vitamin C, Thickener (Xanthan Gum), Vitamin E.

For example most tonic waters are now using chemical sweeteners in place of sugar. I can't take chem sweets and the only tonics available without are premium such as Fevertree and M&S. So its Schweppes and T no longer, but M&S&T!

Managed to escape from the hospital yesterday so now back home.
Have to sleep on my back for a while  Back was hurting so come downstairs and sat in armchair catching up . Looks like I missed lots. Might be able to do the £5 off Esso thing though or has it expired. Will have a look again.
DD here from Oz land. She was rooting through the cupboards and found some homepride sauces that expired this year march and wants to chuck them out :eek:
Oh well could be worse :D

Glad that you are back home.x

Tell your daughter to chuck them into a pot with some meat/chicken/veg or whatever and make you a meal.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Good morning.

Pinch, punch, first of the month. White rabbits etc :).

New month resolutions required (a year is too big to grapple with :D). Mine is to get through more items on my to do list at home and in work - some have been on there for a while :o. Oh ... and less time procrastinating ;).

Tried it with my 7yo dgd. She said, Nanny that is yuk, have you done what mummy does? She puts Aldi sauce into a Heinz bottle and I can tell the difference, so I don't eat it. Needless to say I went and retrieved a bottle of the right stuff from the cupboard.
