    Morning all

My friend had a nasty cold and cough when she visited on Saturday. Of course I now have it.
I am a bit peeved she came knowing I would most likely catch it.
What does anyone think, should she have stayed away?

Yes she blimmin well should have stayed away - I have the same issue - someone came to work on monday with a cold and now i have it

Hope you feel better soon :D

    Thanks, hope you do too.
Main problem is i care for my Mum and am having to stay away, so she doesn't catch it as is very vulnerable. Result is she spent all last night awake, worrying about me because she is really low at the moment.

Me I stay away. I was not passing comment on your friend but as you care for someone vulnerable then yes she should have My BF and I have chatted on the phone as she lives alone and I would not want her to get that bug

I got my sickness bug from DS's family They were all ill and I chose to go and help out as mammies do. I have however cancelled two visits and about to cancel another as I am not sure I am completely over it

    Hope it clears quickly

    I am a happy lady

I was endeavouring to reduce my stash of toiletries etc and struggling The friend who runs the fayre did not require much of my stuff this year

I got some advice from another op and have contacted the council Adult Services They were not able to help but someone from their community section will call back

I called the local care home and they sounded delighted They have patients who get no visitors. More importantly I can go and see the home and organise what best to give in

Also found a local homeless shelter that will take jumpers and jackets

I often take bags of toiletries to a local homeless and a women's' shelter. They are delighted with 'premium' (their words, not mine) brands as money is so tight, they usually get 'value' brands.

  • have you looked at Lidl - they do a 6 pk of cans of Tonic water(bright yellow) & last time I bought they had no sweeteners

Thanks for the info. Lidl too have now started to use artificial sweetener in place of sugar in the ordinary range of tonic (Freeway) - it's in response to the sugar tax. However, Lidl now do a copy of Fevertree which tastes good and is relatively chemical free.
