Both of ours are in for MOT and servicing at the end of this week and next and I am dreading what they are going to find - I don't know why OH thinks the servicing is really needed as the average miles is only about 3000 now.
But the main car has the one sided banging noise which has gradually been getting worse and something is def loose - its fine on the bypass but on the normal cart track roads it clangs about in a terrifying fashion.
I suppose you have to be philosophical about it, at least there is the money there to cover it but even so it feels like you try and save all year and you then get a run of unexpected/expected- but- dreaded expenses and your savings just dwindle away ...
you really shouldn't ignore any strange noises coming from your car and should get them looked at straightaway...they won't get any better!
you shouldn't have any surpasses on your Mot if it is regularly maintained and your do all your basic check on a regular basis.
OH though got a mailing with a voucher for free socks valid until 07/11 worth £10 :T - I dont know what makes him so special. He has had the spend £10 get £2 off food offer twice and also the 20% home stuff last week - I am wondering if they are seeing men as an untapped market which they need to encourage to spend.
Has anyone else got a Sparks for their menfold and are they getting better offers - or is it just my OH
I got 3 x £5 off clothes or homeware on my last mailing, no min spend, I usually just get the 20% off various clothes or food items not of great use tbh, I notice you get ladies get £5 off cardigan or skirts etc now and again I don't get anything like that...I got £10 off when I spend £65 on coats!"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" Benjamin Franklin

Well I thought I would disappear off for a shower but in the midst of this the coal man came
Fortunately he just trudges through to the bag garden and piles the bags in the usual corner and puts the bill through the letter box
£175 now for 20 bags of coal :eek::eek:
OH shovels coal on the fire like his is firing up a steam engine and gets the living room up to 25 degrees so you have to take all of your layers off.
And he gets through a coal order in a month in the worst months
Oh I wouldn't like that at all lol0 -

These are just the perfect freebies for me and I've managed to get one or two;):p
Pleased it's on for a few days. I might have to do some detours around a few different co ops:D
I picked up a Coop mag and spotted a coupon inside. No idea how much these are in storeI managed a few co-op mags today, the store I was in only had one kind of Maryland on offer at £1. Not sure how that compares to other places, but I think Aldi/Lidl do their own 200g for about 40p.screengrab
No good - we need the shelf price to say 50p as that's the amount it says on the coupon posted above:rotfl:.
:money::rotfl::rotfl:
Regarding the Tesco mags - I thought "124 pages. What a waste, when there is only one page worth bothering with!" Actually there are potentially two pages - or rather just the one page about the crisps plus the one tenth of a page from page 3 that consists of the part where the coupon at the very bottom right is - that are IMO the only parts worth reading. The one specific coupon on page 3 should be taken and scanned once, with a CC, when buying one of the packs of crisps. All the other coupons should be ignored - there's nothing else worth reading - unless anyone can tell me when Magnum Vegan Classic or Almond go to £1 instore sometime until 13 November.
Actually -:oare not those Maryland Cookies 39p or something at the moment in Poundstretcher/Farmfoods? So this 50p coupon off £1 = 50p I do not understand.
Again - Breakfast Biscuits in A at 84p per pack:eek:. There are some packs of Breakfast Biscuits (300g) at 2 for £1 from Heron Foods, including Chocolate = the same as Cocoa in my book from A, and Honey & Nuts. Just seems to show how expensive the supermarkets are IMO. Shopping away from the majors seems to be the way to go. Anyway, biscuits and cookies are prohibited items that we should not be buying, unless they are free.0 -
Just had a message from my computer provider to say that something that they presumably were providing before (I know no difference!) may not be being provided by them anymore including at this exact time. May. Or may not. What's the point of saying that? If you are not providing something, why not say it is no longer provided? Rather than it "may" no longer be provided. One of those automated messages that I so love, as they fail to deal with any specific situation, it seems they are not sure and have no idea whether they are providing something or not. Neither do I. It is a hopeless, vague message that says that something "may" be the case. Meaning - it may (or it may not). It therefore tells me nothing at all, except that it does say something: about how pointless it is to send a message that is unclear, does not say whether something is the case or is not the case, just that it "may" be - in other words vague as 'it may not be' - they're obviously unsure about whether it is or is not - and is just a waste of time giving me a message that gives no useful communication or tells me anything of use at all.0

I may be leaving this thread soon...
Then again, I may not:rotfl:.
You don't know whether I am leaving it or not. So, what was the point?!? (In other words, what was the point of even saying something like that in the first place?)0
