    Morning :)

My chauffeuring days have come to an end.

DD3 drove herself to work today. :T

Now starts the chaperoning as it's too expensive to park in town so I sat with her and drove the car back home. It's still cheaper than taking public transport to do it this way. Ridiculous really...

I'll drive it back later so she can drive home. And she is going to attempt dual carriageway after work when the roads are not too busy. She understands now that you learn to pass your test and not completely to drive a car. She is struggling a bit with the clutch control as apparently the car she learnt in had something her instructor called anti roll? so you didn't roll back on hill starts. Not sure that is actually a good idea for learner drivers.

Quite funny, I have never actually passed my test but my teacher told me I had the best clutch control he had ever known  Shame the nerves always gave way on general driving, everything I had to concentrate hard on like manoeuvres was fine, but when I was driving normally I made really silly errors.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Thanks to the :A who gave us the heads up on the 90% off at M&S. :D

Got myself a lovely outfit, lilac trousers, top and grey shoes for less than £8 :j

Also got Mr TS one of those collarless shirts that were £35 for £3.49. :T I had looked online when they were bit more expensive and would have paid more if they had one in his size.

The medium definitely wasn't in store when I looked before and I was so lucky to get it yesterday as when I got upstairs one man had nearly taken the whole of the two little sale rails to himself.

I had concentrated on the ladies things first ;) and went to the fitting room to try things on to make sure all my bargain finds were for me. Rejected 2 dresses one fitted around my middle lovely :o but the around my arms and top it was gaping. :( The other just wasn't me. Funny how things hang different on hangers than they do on a body. :rotfl: Also didn't bother with a top as once on the pattern on the arms was OTT.

Me too, I thought it was triggered by me spending £2 in a Waitrose for the first time in years. Only problem is that I am miles from a Waitrose, unless there happens to be one in a service station somewhere. Even the small one in the top of the local John Lewis is a pain because it is next to the wrong car park for my journey.

I went into Waitrose this morning on the way to work. They only had one magazine though so I actually had to spend real money in there.
It's not too bad though as I've got friends coming over for dinner on Saturday so luckily I came armed with a shopping list. I had to think on my feet a bit but managed to find things that I needed that weren't actually any more expensive in Waitrose than other supermarkets.

On SSM I've got a coupon for 75p off Fairy Platinum which is currently £1 in Sainsburys if anyone's going that way.

Thanks for the suggestion of looking in a smaller T's for the magazines, I'll have to take a look.

I always need to try clothes on before I buy them. Some things look lovely on the hanger but terrible on me, and other things that I thought didn't look very inspiring then look quite good!

That's a shame E, I took 3 or 4 tests and failed can't actually remember. :o It wasn't until I changed driving instructor and he said their was absolutely no reason why I should be failing I was a really good driver. In fact I used to drive an old Morris Ital huge thing, all over the place, long trips too and family would sit in with me. It was the test day that my nerves couldn't cope with and my legs would not stop shaking so no clutch control at all then. :rotfl:

Anyway the last instructor suggested I visited the GP to get something to take on test day. And I can't thank him enough for that suggestion. May have told you all before was given one tablet to take on a day it didn't matter, so took on a Sunday and thought well this isn't going to do anything on the day. But oh my what a difference such a calm experience and I passed. :D

I was talking to our mechanic yesterday as I had taken my car for s service (that's another story ) and he did say something like the little Peugeot 107s clutches are a bit harder as they are more mechanical or something, he mentioned something about hydraulics.

I took DD around a few hilly side roads yesterday and got her to pull in and stop start up the road. This morning her control is already loads better, it's just getting used to a different car. We also got some "P" plates as it unnerved her on the first day when she stalled at a junction and a white van man started beeping at her. :(

    Morning all

Our builder was here yesterday and finally finished painting the front door so we now have a glossy black front door with brass fittings. He did the first paint coat of the stone lintels under the front windows and he is coming back to do the second coat and the door step on Sunday and then we will be done.
Our new sofas also arrived - a local charity does bulk collections around here and they came and took all three sofas last Friday/ OH was in the deckchair and I was on the office chair over the weekend, the cats were lost souls!
In the meantime I've been deep cleaning and decluttering the study and the living room and trying to stop the dining room becoming a general dumping ground.
At some stage all three rooms it will all be replasted and repainted but at least for now its workable - the next time our builder is free is next June so we have booked him!

Marks sparks - nothing very much on the spare cards except the usual 20% and 10% off various food and clothing catergories.

On my card I got a special bonus of 20% off clothing, home and beauty etc

OH though got a mailing with a voucher for free socks valid until 07/11 worth £10 :T - I dont know what makes him so special. He has had the spend £10 get £2 off food offer twice and also the 20% home stuff last week - I am wondering if they are seeing men as an untapped market which they need to encourage to spend.
Has anyone else got a Sparks for their menfold and are they getting better offers - or is it just my OH :D

The socks voucher is for instore or it says it can be activation online but when I go to his account it says check back later as we are updating offer and to wait for an email :(
Might be useful useful for a TCB or Q bonus offer weekend. I've got Marks e vouchers I want to use up. But I also need to do some instore spending as I've got credit vouchers with November dates on them

I always need to try clothes on before I buy them. Some things look lovely on the hanger but terrible on me, and other things that I thought didn't look very inspiring then look quite good!

The trousers I bought are a regular wide legged cropped but being a shortie they fit me like normal trousers. :D

It's easy to get carried away at those prices. I have got a pair of jeans for DD1 one size bigger than she usually wears for post pregnancy, jeans can be very hit and miss on the fit can't they but I decided at £3.49 instead of £35 it is worth the risk.

Also a swimming costume and bikini for DD2, which I am chancing the sizing if not they can go to the charity shop, will keep Mr TS in work somehow. :rotfl:

Reminds me apparently there are some really difficult to spot fake £20 notes in circulation. The charity shop got stung with one the other day even though they have the ultra violet pens. :(

Virtually everything looks good on the hanger and dreadful on me now - thankfully you can try things on at home with Sainsburys things - Marks dont allow returns on sale stuff so I try them on in store
