So two stores entering apg on the SS has resulted in errors and the need for assistance, where before I could do it myself.

Now in another store I was told by the till operator and supervisors that the store manager had told them to not accept apg vouchers as it has ended . Trouts I can cope with, misguided/blatantly wrong instructions from higher ups I find very annoying . Also embarrassing with a queue behind me :o.

    Has anyone else had this?

    Thank you

Store manager is wrong and the store (and the store manager therefore) should be reported to Head Office for going blatantly against what A have promised more widely - the terms under which they are saying you still have 28 days from receipt to use the vouchers.

I don't think there is any problem with the SS machines not accepting APGs the same way as before (APG BC no. then receipt TC#) even though I have had another one cry for approval; instead I think it is me not typing the TC# correctly:o. Despite my efforts to take great care over this, I still had a failure at SS today:doh:, so this time just abandoned the whole transaction and sought out a staffed till. I did then think, when I was queueing at the till, that I had entered a 3 where it was an 8. I was then not going to try the SS machines again and draw attention to myself:o:o:(. I already draw enough attention to myself just by being me! I found my receipt on a dreadful day, wet, mud over it, with holes in the receipt and even torn into two pieces. The TC# itself was, unsurprisingly, faded at parts and of course, later at the till, it didn't scan. I had stuck the two parts of the receipt together with a piece of sellotape when collecting it several weeks ago, and even slightly out of place to disguise just how much of the middle of the receipt was missing. I picked the SA whom I felt was least likely to question a receipt in such a bad condition. So, I just went, with my items, they scanned them, told me the total bill. surprisingly I had an APG of that amount, just handed them the voucher and receipt, they scanned the voucher, then tried to scan the receipt but typed the TC# correctly - and gave me my new receipt for the items I had purchased without saying a word:cool:.

Fairly though, the APG was correctly given from the receipt and was all above board. There wasn't any attempt to use a voucher that didn't relate to the correct receipt. It's just that there are some people who might question such a receipt in such a state.

A rescued womble. That's how I prefer to look at it:rotfl:. Saved that money, on behalf of everyone.

I also wombled some CC points on a receipt I found at T. Or else I will be putting them on when I start to return for my crisps from 17th October. I've only done that once before, when I found a receipt for about £40 when out on holiday at a store in a holiday resort miles away:rotfl:. I haven't been at T that much in order to find them. Who knows - perhaps I have started shopping at T more now that a certain competitor no longer offers what they did before?

I have actually had one store at which an SA told me that they now needed to see the debit/credit cards that had been used to purchase shopping because, apparently, people had been picking receipts up off the floor. The SA took them this once but claimed that all the staff in the store have been told to check. I have divided my APGs in two sections ever since - card and cash (or completely APGs). I did a test a few days ago. I took a set of three receipts to pay for a couple of items and decided to try them at this store first, all of them paid for with a different card number but all done on different days, with hours between them etc. Handed them over - to another SA. And, surprise, surprise, they just scanned each one in turn, they knocked the bill off correctly and just accepted the vouchers in full payment and that was that:rotfl:.

    Morning paw snifffers:D

I've got a job this morning that I've been dreading.
We have a fishman who has been calling on us every thursday morning for years. Maybe 10 years. Well it started off every Thursday and then it went to fortnightly. I used to buy fish off him religiously until I started to find it for 10p in the supermarket. He then diversified and started selling eggs and potatoes and other stuff. To be honest I've been buying stuff for ages that I don't really need. Now we have the hens, I can't justify it any longer and I'm dreading telling him.

He'll be here shortly. I best have a coffee to stiffen my backbone:o

    I'll report back:o
