Well I did an A's shop.
Last Sunday, at about the same time I was too early for whoopsies, this week too late! All I got was 1 bag spinach, 1 bag sliced leeks and one small tray of rasps at 5p each:o
I have to say that you can scoot around that shop some much quicker when you are not counting items and separating your shopping!
As expected the car park was littered with receipts!
Anyway my nett total spend for the week is £3.94 and given the £20 I won we are in minus figures!:j:j
I'm expecting a call from the bank to say there has been unexpected inactivity on your account! :rotfl:
:(You're like me, never able to time it right. I have found I am a little freer as to times I go to A, as I don't have to wait until just after lots of other shoppers will have visited now (to find wombles) but can go wherever I want - as long as I check everything in advance!
I feel I need to go on some day on which it is heavily raining later in the month. Shopping on these dry, even if a little cold, days leaves me seeing receipts that look new and perfect, on many of which A won't be 10% cheaper. I could do with them not looking so perfect and uncrumbled that would have been fantastic to have taken in the past.0 -
I have an amex offer, spend 50 get 20 account credit.
Would it be too outrageous to go in, buy a 50 gift card then have the six of us sit at 3 tables of 2 and each have a £3 want-to burger/baguette and pay using the gift card?

Spent more than I'd have liked today but had to stock up for kids for while I'm away. They don't get home until 6.30 so will not be cooking from scratch on work/college days but heyho, freezer will still be full when I get back so will try to make up for it then

Well I hit Markies at the right time but very few reductions. DH wanted sandwiches and got 12 packs. Apparently they need at least 3 packs plus fillers. Prices from 25p to 55p I cant make then for that :T
I made HM steak pie, mincemeat pies and a fruit loaf all from freezer/cupboard stock.
I am loving this frugal challange even though my spend it not as low as others0 -

ooh err, very cheeky Monsieur .J
Forgot to post the rest of dinner
To be honest, although the pork rillettes was delicious, it was perhaps a bit too "lean". Perhaps adding a bit of melted fat or butter after potting it - or having it on buttered bread instead of dry sourdough as I had it. I try to be as healthy as possible in my recipes, and it's difficult to balance taste and healthy.
I"ll try the next portion on hot buttered toastFighting Recurring Cancer0
