Mrs Anon had that a few weeks ago - she has been taking quotes on her own and told them that she would be on the phone. When the sales guy turned up, he said he could not quote without me being there . Why? She was perfectly capable and she can spend our money better then I can :D. Mrs Anon was very annoyed . Either sexist or misguided, we won't be going with them and they are off the list.

I am astonished by these stories in this day and age! I moved to Salford 25 years ago and couldn't believe then the double glazing salesmen who wanted to talk to my husband about new windows. I used to get mad, tell them that I had bought the house by myself and no estate agent or solicitor or building society had ever even suggested that I needed a husband to buy a house and windows are peanuts in comparison. I would then tell them that there was no way I was going to have anything to do with such a sexist company and suggested they might want to reconsider their policy.

If you find any skin care RTCs in superdrug don't forget to pick up the free skin care kit if you are lucky to find 3 items. ;)

The MIXA body lotion was reduced to 65p each so this little lot only cost me £1.95 :money:

Sorry to hear you are unwell elaine. Hope this evening finds you better.

I've made a bit of a start on my stash room. I am shocked at how much I have:o And not in a good way:o I have to get to grips with it all.

I've meal prepped for lunches and dinners all next week and made a start on all the 10p ready meals filling the freezer. They won't be replaced. I've bought stuff in the past as it was cheap but nothing beats a home cooked meal.
Totally agree. I only ever buy ready meals when they are RTC'd for grumpy when I'm out. He tells people that he loves to cook, but in reality, no o ..o

My dream was always to afford to do my weekly shop in M&S but even then, it was to afford to, would never actually do it!

You don't need that much money to cook from scratch.. potatoes eggs and beans to start, as time goes on you buy 1 spice every so often and then you have the makings of so many dishes

    :D

Forgot to post the rest of dinner :o

To be honest, although the pork rillettes was delicious, it was perhaps a bit too "lean". Perhaps adding a bit of melted fat or butter after potting it - or having it on buttered bread instead of dry sourdough as I had it. I try to be as healthy as possible in my recipes, and it's difficult to balance taste and healthy.
I"ll try the next portion on hot buttered toast :)

Did you bake the bread too JTS?:)

Thank you very much. I need to visit T tomorrow and will scout around.

I have been sorting my stash and the number of tins of peas is testimony to the number of planned APGs I have done, though a lot went to the food bank too. It's very sad that it is all over.

Mind you, I did well in the rtc section of Morries this morning with pacs of 20 paper serviettes for 25p, some oven bulbs reduced to very little and some pencil cases reduced to 32p and perfect for shoe boxes.

oh, serviettes and oven bulbs, I[STRIKE] need[/STRIKE] want those! Off to M's tomorrow

    I would try 20 and 16 :rotfl:

Or put a big cardigan on:rotfl:

    21 and 17 was down from 22 and 18....

TBH it does depend where and how steeply I set the heating curve. With DW not working it means we heat to day temp between 5am and 10pm which does get expensive even with our house allegedly being 'B'. [Having 10 long showers a day doesn't help either, I think from next year we will have to pay metered water rate rather than rateable value which will increase the bill by about 3x, I wonder if there is a low income scheme]
    I think....

    Evening :)

Anyone spotted these RTCs in M&S, I'm certainly going to have a look in my local tomorrow. We get through a lot of wholegrain rice and 25p would be fantastic.

Oh I forgot to post this yesterday:o

There were quite a few items RTC at 25p but all the shelves were empty.

I think aau had posted about them a few days ago saying they were making space for Christmas stock

Look out for the little red labels :D
