Waitrose is to test a delivery service which will allow drivers to enter a customer's home while they are out, and put their groceries away.

The trial uses smart lock technology to allow customers to set an access code for their door lock which is deleted when the delivery is complete.

The pilot starting later this month will involve 100 homes in south London.

Profit margins on home deliveries are thin, and one analyst said the aim was to boost loyalty and profitability.

I'm really enjoying froctober so far. Just to give an example to those who were asking how it works, this is the effect it has on me. On Wednesday we were having steak and chips for tea so I thought I would buy a bag of salad to go with it, I went into Iceland picked up a bag for £1 but the draw of having a nsd made me remember we had mushrooms in the fridge which made me put the salad back :D
I had my haircut this week and paid £15 out of my purse which was upsetting me as it was a big chunk out of my cash for the month. Yesterday i worked an extra hour to cover someone else and my boss said just put your normal hours down for today and that's for the extra and put £15 on my desk I was :j:j:j:j:j because it put my total back to where it should be. Little did he know how happy that made me, they don't understand my shopping ways and think I'm nuts. I don't understand their shopping ways and think they're nuts when they go in mns spend £35 just about get enough food for two meals and are pleased cos they used a £5 off voucher, each to their own.

TS so glad you enjoyed Dd tough mudder they did great.

    That's mad.
I feel sorry for the delivery driver who is also putting himself at risk.

Well my Froctober took a dip yesterday. Due to a family bereavement my usual hairdresser was unavailable and I visited a new salon after work, one that I'd never been to before.
I realised at the end that they only accepted cash and I had none on me. The nearest cashmachine was miles away:o I had to visit a nearby shop and buy something AND pay £1 to draw out the cash:o

However, I did get free Weetabix and cat food with APGs so I can't complain:D

    Great news:)

Savvybuyer, I need a bit of time to read and digest your post, I am in a hurry to get to work ( I always need to be at my desk at least 30 minutes before start of my shift, being late in intolerable for me.) I will post later when I have sufficient time :)

Oh, 2nd day for free snack via Subway app if you haven't got them already ;)

Me too, I will read later:)
