We do have a further day so, check to see whether any mbuys are ending tomorrow!

Why didn't I think to check these?

    Terms & Conditions
Please Note: The [APG] will no longer be available after the 3rd October. As such no comparisons on receipts of any date will be possible after this. Details of how this affects your comparison are shown within point 5.

5.1. ...Your shop will be available for you to compare for either 28 days after you made your purchases or up until and including Wednesday 3rd October, whichever comes first.

5.2. If you shopped online, you need to wait up to 24 hours from when your shop was delivered before you can compare it. The order will be available to compare for either 28 days after the date of delivery or up until and including Wednesday 3rd October, whichever comes first...

    It is certainly clear now.

P&O customers, I see the drinks packages have been rolled out to all ships. DOnt seem overly good value to me at the moment, even with what I drink, but no doubt the price of drinks will go up so they become 'good value'.

    I think you're confusing A with T:rotfl:.

Fwiw, since the scheme is ending soon, A did amend the T&Cs to include stickered items. They are therefore following the rules:

    20. Any item carrying a 'Whoops' label in our stores (displayed as 'reduced to clear' on your till receipt) will be compared against our Competitors' online or, in the case of Morrisons, in-store prices.

Anyway, are there any mbuys ending instore now today?

    :rotfl:

(And, if so, which ones are they? Please and TIA.)

That wouldn't be so bad, except that 50p is a very expensive price in the light of T having had an offer for 3 for £1 some time ago (maybe on other flavours, or maybe t.com is just sleeping or pretending that they don't have them so as to trip up any comparisons).

EDIT: Ah, I now understand. (I've come into this in the middle again.) It is for free products. Should have had three insead of two - being shortcharged by one:rotfl:.

Savvy I was thinking it includes wednesdays receipts.... but maybe the latest 9PM cos of the 3 hour wait!!!

    shall see..

Wednesdays are often an mbuy end day in A - they've been on that day for years so as to tie in with me being at Morrisons and make it more difficult for me. However, today I am free!:D

Fwiw now SP Gravy also comparing against T at 20p. Buy 'value' Gravy in M or T tomorrow/after tomorrow if A don't reduce their price back down (and we hope M/T stay at 20p:rotfl:).

I did make a right decision to go for my shop of £4.51, for the sake of 60p back. Wombles are something in excess of £6. Not sure of exact figure as I am no longer keeping track but those are approx. the total of the ones I remember. Final total for what I have to spend this month - I suspect it might be somewhere back up to about £50 or £60 again - may change if there's glitches today depending on what they cost and how much they get back - won't be known until I sort everything out later - that was just the first part of the process - still got to work out the total and what shops I am doing for the month.

It is, I think, the reason why it is ending. Fewer than 1% of customers check their receipts - although I did have one just then that had several APGs off a shop and a few pence to pay - maybe a shop done by someone on here? - it's a small world - but they didn't check their receipt:rotfl:. Maybe they knew, as the result was 4 pence. I won't be bothering with that one. Almost the only people checking receipts are glitch buyers and womblers. It's no good womblers moaning, as I suspect, having seen how little averse impact there was on T of the withdrawal of TBG, that's why APG is ending.

They don't want people getting shopping from them for free, and that what's effectively we've been doing. And who could blame them or, indeed, us? Therefore, the money-printing factory will close tonight:(. (There has been suggestion that you could continue to claim vouchers for three months after a check - however that relies on the APG site still being up and I wouldn't like to risk it not being. No comparisons, it says, can be done after 3rd October - although it doesn't say that if you have a comparison locked in by then, it will not be available for another three months and be able to claim any unclaimed voucher then. However, neither does it say the site will remain online to be able to do so, and there seems to me no reason why the site should remain up after today. It can disappear - like the links promoting the APG from the grocery website, I am told, did.)

I think A may expect that we would continue to shop with them, and now paying them for what we buy (in other words not with wombles that are effectively free money from them). We might indeed do so, but, unless no other options are realistic, only where they are the best value. If anything, the scheme has opened up my eyes as to how supermarket price their products and how often they are more expensive than elsewhere. They may be the cheapest only when they have an item on an offer price - even then some offers are inflated and cost more than competitor offers - or may be cheaper if they have a particular item on loss leader (what they hope will lead...:rotfl:), other than that they are often, for most people, same price as everywhere else and may waste little time putting prices up if competitor prices have gone up to the same price, unless they have failed to spot what elsewhere has done. The price collectors are certainly not out of a job - I think they will still be working and A will know what prices they are getting from M, so as to price its products strategically. It's for us to identify which place is the best price, as it always has been, and work out where to buy items from (probably different places for different items).

It's late at night and the screen highlighted my entire text then lost my last post:(. I was trying to amend my last post to add that I never completed the M list as I have been taken away from it for several days by being at A. It was a further day of that on Tuesday. However, once this is all over (i.e. from Thursday 4th, with all vouchers safely claimed), I think I will be competing the list with the information I got last week:wall:. I know - there seems little point but, despite this, I will, I suspect, do it anyway. For me, I just like to have things completed and neat and tidy and I can't leave it outstanding - though it will be outstanding, as it always has been, once it is finished (see what I did there? Two different meanings of 'outstanding'). It will function as a list of items that may be cheaper to buy at M, and give the prices that A needs to beat on the shelf, or to match:(, or if you have colleague discount card, then 10% off the shelf price needs to be no higher, for us to buy from A, unless anywhere else goes cheaper, or we hope M does not increase its price. Elsewhere will need to be checked first in case it has gone cheaper, as prices will have changed. The original expiry dates for the offers in M will remain on the list (but no new, beyond last week, will be added), although offers could end early in M. I won't be updating the list after a week ago although I may occasionally post items such as RTC items if I see them in M: for example - a couple from early this week (when I visited M to see that the one non-online item I was planning to buy from A maybe on Tuesday had not changed in price in M so as for M to catch me out on my APG comp.) - I saw frozen food items M Chicken Korma with Rice (400g) at 79p RTC and M The Best Cumberland Sausages, I think, not taking any details anymore, 600g (I remember that bit:rotfl:) have returned to my store at 50p RTC. I don't know - there's a suggestion some of these items may be on store-specific prices as some frozen ready meals scanned at full price in one store for me last week (ah the old days:rotfl:) despite continuing to be labelled at RTC in another store - but some items certainly are RTC in more than one store - and people of course will have other frozen food items on RTC in their M that I have yet to see no doubt (and probably won't see now - that said, items I found elsewhere did turn up at my store later on and of course the Best Sausages may have disappeared again from my store by now and be available for someone else somewhere else). Also, these are chilled items, Galtee Black Pudding and Galtee White Pudding were each 65p RTC although that was last week and still has yet to reach the list (which it is in the queue for) but thought I would mention now - probably belatedly again and after it has been and gone from many places (may still be around somewhere though?). I am waffling as usual - some things won't change:rotfl: - and goodnight for now:wave:.

I shall return from probably Thursday onwards, when I finally get time back again, to silently update the M list to last week's final information and to end with the list all neat and tidy and then I shall have some extra time on my hands... probably shopping regularly and often in A over the next months to spend my remaining vouchers:rotfl:. So, I shall be busy on that (still a busy month:(:)) and then might finally get a break in November/December in the run up to a nameless festivity (puts Christmas more in your mind so might as well just say it:rotfl::doh:) and will then have time to do things that have not been prioritised recently. So, no danger of running out of things to do and to be fair I was getting fed up of the M list before the end. Then actually liked the last one which I have still to complete on here:T:rotfl:.

I was also enjoying checking those latest shops just now, strangely, even though the whole thing is ending and will cost us much more in the future. So I shouldn't be enjoying and laughing at some comparisons even though I was, though maybe I should where they were still giving me a few decent vouchers:rotfl:.

It will be strange at first actually shopping at the cheapest place (although that's maybe an extension of my shopping at Aldi/Lidl/Heron Foods/Iceland/Home Bargains (all available within reasonable lack of distance from me) that I have, I've noticed, been doing more of recently as A doesn't have a cheap equivalent or Avs major supermarkets still works out more expensive)). It will also be the last time I frown at A putting its prices down, which I did on my Avs M shop. I actually had to replace an item on there as it had gone down by a penny:( - meant I'd be 1p short of my voucher amount:(:(:( - or maybe it was always a little cheaper in A than what I remembered (I've actually been concentrating more on competitor prices when shopping in A). The shopfloor worker in A near me, who may have overheard me, if so must have thought I was daft when I exclaimed: ":(They've put the price down!" and then moved away from the item and walked down the aisle in a grump, to find the alternative item I already had:( that was same price as what I wanted and would make do on this shop. Shades of T's ending DTD Price Check as I remember frowning at them bringing prices down closer to or - even worse - matching A's. Some of those, even a pound off which made it still more expensive than A would reduce the DTD so much that it changed it from being free or better than into still having to pay several pounds for the item, so no longer worthwhile. I liked that Lamb Rack - and I think T brought that down in price at one stage (:(). :rotfl:

That was a time ago now and I may have misremembered although I do know it got me into all this in the first place - but having done so, both T and A have left us more wise to their methods now and less likely to fall for them. The PG, for the savvy consumer, has made them (us, the 1%) more savvy - I would say it's in stores' interest for us to know as little as possible rather than the opposite which, for the minority greatly interested in it, the PGs have done. In other words, the PGs and checking price information from competitors has made us more informed and knowledgeable, which isn't really in any one store's interest (they don't really want to us to know how best to do the shopping as it means us getting goods at lower prices and not ending up overpaying the supermarket on at least something).

Sometimes, misdirection in the stores helps on this if we are not already wise as to the best option, misdirection helped by not having a list ready in advance that we have had to stick to to do a comparison. So - don't let the lack of comparison make you go wild with unplanned impulse purchases now, just because you now can. As that way is undoubtedly overpayment. And for 'misdirection', I have thought about this on the sugar in Poundstretcher being on a "Star Buy" and, now aware from M of how they place offers in stores when some other item, tucked away on the shelves at normal price - or even on another offer - is better - I remember the eggs of a month or two ago - big offer price of £2 on a 12 pack (or something like) when two packs of 6 on 2 for £1.50 would (at that time) be better (offer now long expired in M). So, on seeing the Star Buy sugar in Poundstretcher (as M's price on bigger pack 2Kg has risen and risen), I did have to check that my Poundstretcher store did not have some other pack size of sugar, same brand no doubt, on the normal shelves at better price per Kg. than their Star Buy. I could not find any, at least in my store, so I did end up buying the Star Buy (or what they call the "Star" buy - makes it look good, words are very important) but message is not to assume what is called a star buy, or special buy, or whatever other words necessarily is the best. Even then, or especially then, with the Star Buy in a prominent place, you still need to check the normal shelves to make sure you aren't being misdirected away from something cheaper and onto what it is good buy for you to buy for the store - but inevitably a worse buy from our POV. The more prominence something has in a store, maybe the greater need to check (rather than the assumed opposite) that something else in the store isn't better value. We need to do the opposite of what they expect, to save money:money:. I suspect they know that most people will see the prominent item, put in front of them, and think it must be good. Stores therefore work to how most people will shop in order to sell more and make money (which is their job to do) from the customers. And of course competitors could be cheaper - although on the sugar, having already checked, or known, the major supermarkets and elsewhere, I ended up with Poundstretcher (and even then I may have lacked information and not known about somewhere else).

At one stage, I had a huge 5Kg bag from the time when T sold them that lasted years and years, and sugar does not go out of date - but, somehow, when I buy 2Kg bags, the other person here uses them quicker:huh:. I mean, much quicker than even 2/5ths. Two and a half 2Kg bags seem not to last as long as one 5Kg bag somehow - I don't know whether the smaller bag (2Kg compared to 5Kg) makes them dig deep and take far too much, whereas a large 5Kg they just stratch the surface and take a reasonable amount but they seemed to use a 2Kg bag quite quickly and, with prices having gone up on that since, I now had to buy a further 1Kg bag and major supermarkets were not as good priced as Poundstretcher on that item, even if Poundstretcher still quite a lot more expensive than Aldi/Lidl and elsewhere were several years ago (even Avs elsewhere now didn't match Poundstretcher).

Anyway, more importantly, wonder if any mbuys end in A today:rotfl:? Even if there is something that you can see no comp. for M online, don't rely on that and don't hesitate to ask the question as I'll pop in later and I might know if M have the item even if not the item's latest price there.

I said goodnight two hours ago probably:rotfl:. Goodnight (for real)!
