but its probably more on paper than it actually is¬!!:)

Years ago when the children were small but school age I

use to work 5.30-10.30pm only 3 evenings a week but the 10.30 finish was usually midnight as an aux in community nursing
our area was one of a few involved in a pilot twilight scheme ---and we had a good service,
I also done 2 night covers from 10pm til 6 am in patients own homes for marie curie
I use to have a Monday off from twilight and helped a friend (admittedly only for 6months) set up a now very popular coffee shop in the village, I was there making cakes, pastries and scones. I worked 8-5, cycled home often taking unsaleable things home for tea, Dh then use to go out at 6pm as he was chairman of the local bridge club (cards) he was home by 10, then off id go to a patient staying til 6,30 am
Home by 7, kids up breakfast and off to school by 8.30 me then bed:)
oh yes forgot to mention we also done B+B for over 20years...we only have a small cottage (our home) but could accommodate 6 people for insurance purposes;)
we done all the work ourselves cleaning, cooking ironing and bl..dy tax returns.
all the different roles worked together well and complimented each other, the children met a variety of people from different nationalities, learnt the proper way to have table manners(not like many kids today with videos in front of them as they eat, my gs included:mad::mad::)and had many happy times playing with guests children.
they learnt the value of money, sharing, communications skills and manners.
we were lucky being able to generate an income and also be with our children, I never left them with babysitters(too busy to go out:rotfl:) when we did go out I was in a circle with other mums and we paid each other by tiddlywinks counters, if you wanted to go out and couldn't pay you had to go and babysit for another mum to earn the counters

The above is when I think I was busy and it was hard very hard, but so many funny stories from the b+b made it worthwhile.
looking back I don't think id change it,
ill have to remember and tell you some of the b+b stories;)

so my life at the moment in comparison seems a like a walk in the park:)

next year I am 60 so perhaps I will by then literally be taking a walk in the park with the GS:):)
