Yup, it serves 2 purposes. Firstly, it activates the store for spending in from the next day but also by doing a shop in Sainsburys they get confirmation of the points balance showing on their receipt so they know exactly how much they have to spend
All very concerning, if I was Sainsbury’s! They are reinstating my points and reissuing cards, plus the ‘advertised’ 2000 points goodwill gesture. Whilst they don’t appear to have taken action to avoid this type of fraud they do at least seem to have learnt how to deal with the issue efficiently.

Think you'll be having more than a glass.
    What a day.
    Hope it's sorted.
My simple jobs seem to end up escalating like that as well......

Not quite sorted - a couple of joints are still very slightly damp. May settle down overnight but will be a pain in the arris otherwise as they are on the pipe which had the seized up stoptap and I really do not fancy having to drain the tank again so we can undo the joints and remake them. At this rate I can advertise s a plumber ! Ball valve on the tank has settled down though.

thanks, i was in there a few days ago and it was reduced but still £20 ish, will have a look tomorrow. was going to pop in on the way back from !!!!!! after taking that one back but honestly, by that point id been out 3 hours and was knackered.

had bloke round to look at a new roof on the conservatory, the thought of spending money is making me itch lol

Do you use the b&m app while in store? It's fab some stuff is cheaper than the shelf price. Lots of garden stuff was reduced to £1, someone got wooden table & chair for £5.

We got a quote to have a proper roof on our conservatory, £10,000 :rotfl::rotfl: more than the conservatory cost in the first place.

Ordered some items from Boots a few weeks ago and waited for the ready to collect email. Didnt get one so fb and twittered boots. Very slow in answering. Just by chance I was passing boots the other day so went in to see if my order was there. It was. So fb boots again and said its ok I have collected the items now. Boots were still corresponding very slowly. Asking questions e.g. date of birth, order number etc. Eventually came back and said sorry I didnt get a ready to collect email but there was a technical error. And to get in touch if any further questions. So I asked them if I could have some compensation, like points for the inconvenience.
So they came back and said "Thanks for getting back to us.
Unfortunately, as this was a technical error, I’m afraid that we would not be able to offer any good will gesture on this occasion. I’m sorry for any disappointment that this may cause".

Whats happened to if you dont ask you dont get :rotfl:
  • Thank you SnS, I think I will brave a wine shop tomorrow.

On DH's instructions I have struggled to bend the arm down a bit but its absolutely rigid and I cannot manage to straight it out - at the moment its got a slight upward kink and the ball valve is a tiny bit to high .Its all very well DH telling me to press it down but I am afraid of breaking the darn float

Add a little weight to the top of the ball valve - a few coins will do - that will make it sit lower on the water.

You really need to get the stop c0ck fixed in case you get an emergency.

Very good advice - when things go wrong it will cost you a fortune if you have not repaired this x

That they have. Their FB wall often has people commenting about how all their points have been spent. They always seem to get reinstated pretty darn quickly
