I agree. I wouldn't start doing them until around end of February or beginning of March and I am fairly far south :)

We were given free rein to pick as much as we want from an allotment neighbours plum tree :j:j so of course it'd be rude not to :rotfl:

I've made plum crumbles, given a load to my parents and still have a crate leftover :rotfl::rotfl: I'll take some to work tomorrow and cook up or freeze the rest

Not making any wine this year

Plum jam is really easy as it sets well if you can be bothered to take the stones out. I had a walk to some local damson trees today and they will be ready in a week or 2 so that will be homemade jam for Xmas pressies to go with the raspberry jam I have on the stove cooking at the minute. 2.2kg of woopsied 10p rasps from the freezer that have built up over the last few months.

Do you have a recipe for plum wine as it would probably work with damsons. I hve never made wine before from scratch as we usually use a kit 7 how long does it take? Thanks.

Thank you all for the kind comments It is appreciated

It is so easy for me to say that the man is now at peace which is what I believe but he is not my dad/husband While the family had been told it was to be palliative care they did not think it would be so quick

Off to read up on other forums as DH needs a sleep on the sofa after his boozy night out and I am not to make too much noise :rotfl:

Taking the stones out is easy! I just run the knife around it, twist it so its in half and flick the stone out :D

I'm being too lazy to make jam :o That would involve going to the shop and buying sugar :rotfl:

I can't remember the recipe I used for plum wine a few years ago :o pretty sure it was just plums, sugar, hot water and yeast, in a big lidded bucket for a week, stirring or shaking twice daily then straining into the demijohn. I do remember that it was really lovely! We did use Camden tablets but I can't remember at what stage or how many

The asterisk usually means that it is out of stock.

The trouble is that that asterisk has come to mean that an item isn't out of stock on some occasions. (By 'out of stock' we mean an item that's gone out of stock on a retailer's website as msm gets its information from there: it could still be available in store.) If you're seeing "*" against a competitor's price, click on the price, or otherwise bring up the item on the competitor's side of msm, and see if it changes to "Unavailable" or whether the price magically still shows but the asterisk has disappeared. This is because msm, for several months now, seems to have "*" against some items in error. If the item is still showing OOS - even when in the store that has it as OOS - then that OOS marking usually lasts for seven days, the same as the APG, so it should still compare - unless the item has reappeared in stock on the competitor's website maybe with a much higher price! Bear in mind that sometimes though msm can be updated late, whilst the APG may have picked up another price since. Items against T can be notorious for picking up much higher prices on Sundays. A further check, of course, is to look at the competitor (to A) website and take direct from there rather than staying only on msm.

As regards M, I wouldn't pay a lot of attention to OOS markings, as items are collected instore not from online and could have been in stock last Wednesday even if dropped offline now. However, if something has gone offline from m.com - maybe better to wait to the next collection data as it could have gone onto RTC instore in M and now be cheaper than the price you'd get from the last collection?
