unsure what grow lights are. I would start in my mini greenhouse in the dining room then get them outside ASAP after the frost. When is the best tie to start them. I do not have a greenhouse
Up here, I would have said no earlier than the end of Feb. There just isnt enough daylight before then.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I agree. I wouldn't start doing them until around end of February or beginning of March and I am fairly far south
We were given free rein to pick as much as we want from an allotment neighbours plum tree :j:j so of course it'd be rude not to :rotfl:
I've made plum crumbles, given a load to my parents and still have a crate leftover :rotfl::rotfl: I'll take some to work tomorrow and cook up or freeze the rest

I bought wood wicks off the bay of E and I melt them in a pyrex jug in the microwave and pour into the used posh candle jars!0 -

I know you'll be a great support to your DIL. I think it should be everyone's right wherever possible to die at home. I mean where else would you want to be?
Just heard a really interesting news item on people in hospital spending too much time in bed. There's a big campaign starting to get people up and dressed which psychologically is better for them and get them moving around. And for those who can, sitting at a table to eat which is more sociable and better for you than lying in bed.
If you are poorly I know this isn't possible but I can certainly see the benefits for those who can.
Many hospitals now don't have 'communal' eating areas, or if they do they don't use them, which I think is such a shame!
(mind you they also used to have smoking rooms!)
During my last 'protracted' stay in a hospital near us, I contracted MRSA and was moved to a single room for infection control:eek: to be honest I was secretly pleased as I didn't have to listen to everyone else and explain to nurses how the lady opposite me needed her medication administered!0 -
They do say 'selected wines only' and I found it difficult to tell from the shelf labels. The ones I had only showed full price and no mention of 25% off - I got over it by finding a helpful staff member who scanned each wine x 6 and confirmed the discount on them. A bit fiddly but I have been caught out before !
I heard a SA tell somebody it's all the wines except fortified (like sherry) sparkling or under £4 a bottle.0 -

I tend to start mine in April, never put them "out" out until June as there is still a risk of frost throughout May, once they've got a reasonable start I put them in my mini greenhouse.
We have two loads of wine, reduccurant waiting to be bottled and tea waiting to clear. Always seem to have plenty of wine in the winedrobeWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Are we sure all wines are in the 25% off as MSM is only showing 59 at £5?? Will check when I go out for woopsies later.
The signage in my local store says 25% off 6 or more bottles on selected wines over £4 - there is nothing to say which ones are or are not 'selected' thoughPandora's Little Sister 30/11/17 x0 -
