Oi We are off to Scarborough area in a few weeks Haven at Filey and wee GD at 4 says Scarborough ever so politely Its weird
How are the wedding preparations for here going or have they been?
Go to Whitby, Robin Hoods bay, and find some nice beach coves, it is a beautiful area. ooh and I like Flamborough head.... and Fraisthorpe.... I could carry on! But Bridlington is in the top 10 of the UK for horrible/dirty men (if you get my meaning) so keep a close eye on GD.
The wedding is over with, thank god for that.
The last event was on Saturday, we were expecting 100 people at a garden party.... the head count was over 150...:eek::eek:
We are just trying to get straight....... I need to pack away all the throws, cushions, tables, crockery, glasses, dishes and everything else I bought for the occasion (from car boot/auctions so very cheap).
I've realised that DIL has absolutely no skills/interest in cooking/maintaining a house......... I feel rather sorry for DS1 but at least we raised him to be able to cook, clean and run a house (flipping good job). I am hoping he gets a back bone and tells her that she has to do something.
DIL is going away with work for 2 weeks tomorrow, so DS1 is coming home.... if he thinks I am looking after him he has another thing coming! When he drops her off at Heathrow, he is going to see a company that he has had 12 rounds of interviews with (bloody ridiculous) so hopefully he will get the job but it will mean moving to Singapore which is ideal for DIL. He will be travelling 2 weeks out of 4 which is good as he is used to travelling all the time, so hopefully this will give him the best of both worlds.
I can live happily with them being in Singapore.... indeed I am looking forward to a break..... never thought I would say that but I am exhausted!
PS if anyone wants to hold a huge garden party, if you come to my house with a large truck you can fill your boots!:D:D:D

Morning all
Has anyone successfully appealed a parking ticket? Can you please pm me?
Thank you.
I have been successful inna......twice.
Once on a retail park at Christmas when I was Christmas shopping and overstayed my welcome:o They accepted my receipts as proof that I was spending money there.
The second was at a local GP surgery and the signs were missing from the area I parked in. I took photos and put together a couple of paragraphs and I was successful.
Good luck:)To do is to be. Rousseau

The person at the till didn't write down the code, just looked at it on my phone. I had a screenshot of my sister's code too and she seemed happy with that. My husband had a code too, so over £21 of free beer. Not that I would have paid for it at that price!!

Criminal me:eek:
I've been to both today!
Woke up this morning to a fabulous sea view at the posh end of Scarborough in a very nice hotel.
We went to an Italian restaurant last night where the wine menu was . Flicked through to see mostly £50+ wines, there was even one bottle at £460 something :rotfl:.
So it's not all greasy spoons and rock shops westie.
Not been to brid before but nipped in on way home. Noticed the microwave omelette gadget that's been mentioned on the sw thread £1 from Boyes, the most old fashioned department store ever. Enjoyed it for a change.
Evening peeps, will catch up later......
There are some nice places, if you have not left the area yet I recommend the pipe and glass inn (lovely and rather good value for Michelin Star) and a day in Beverley.
Boyes is an interesting shop! I am wearing glasses from there!!100
