    Afternoon all.

My friend came over to do some physio on Harley. He ran across the garden to me to get a bonio, very wobbly and not putting full pressure on his bad legs yet.

Positive news though he can move and get up, still long way to go.

Tweets and snap ending you massive hugs.

    Hello!:rotfl:

I've just made a pointless edit to one of my posts from the early hours, as I've spotted a tiny typo. in the post and of course gone back and corrected it. (Years ago I would not have said it was pointless as, of course, it is technically putting the word to completely correct and therefore there is that minor, technical and pedantic "point" to it; however, more substantively, it is in truth pointless as it makes no real difference, you knew what it meant anyway or if not it was easily worked out. And of course the post is now somewhat in the past so there was no point at this stage correcting such a tiny slip on the keyboard (I knew how to spell the word I meant really).)

However, it could be said to be another example of "discrimination" that I may face from the way in which society operates, in this case this website. (It may or may not be technically unlawful - depends on the precise extent of a provision of Schedule 3 to the Equality Act 2010 for those who can be really interested - I don't know as it's beyond me as a definition refers to another definition that I would have to look at in order to work out what it meant or argue it to be unlawful and someone else, on the same words, to argue the contrary and me to see all and not to know. It doesn't mean I am rushing to law - because the point is that I could think it was a form of discrimination whether unlawful or not.)

It's because of the way in which I do things - and anyone that did the same thing, whether they had Asperger's or not would be treated by the computer systems in the same way - but people without Asperger's would be very unlikely to do things this way which I do because I have Asperger's and therefore the computer treats me "less favourably". It does this because I keep going back and editing posts and then going back and editing them again - the M list obviously has to be done this way but others as well, it's called perfection. The systems think I am a robot (nice of them to denigrate me in this way:rotfl:) because I probably operate like a computer in a logical way and keep going back and editing things, to put them right or whatever other reason. I therefore keep getting the "security check" in order to keep access to the forum. I am obviously not a robot (not obvious to the computers) so shouldn't be given this problem. I can pull out my router and reset things - sometimes I've resorted to that if the security gets too bad but it does mean I am put to waiting more time to go back to a website that does this (this isn't the only place) and taking up my time is treating me less favourably.

They have these reCAPTCHA things, which are an extra burden (regardless of whether the burden is not a huge one or not) and, because of the way I think about things, are I think, more difficult for me to give the right answer, or the one the system expects, that many people would be able to do more easily. The reCAPTCHA things are not entirely clear - sometimes it's because I don't know basic things and have blank spots in certain areas in which I have no specialist interest. There's often doubt - is that a tiny sliver of a picture of car in the corner of that square? I look into the squares in tiny detail and see things that most people would not even see and, then because the tiny things are not completely clear, I'm not sure whether they are a car, for example, or not - so don't know whether that is a box I should tick containing a car. This takes me longer to complete the thing, which is another disadvatage and barrier.

The website on reCAPTURA itself contradicts itself (on my reading) in two parts I've seen. It claims "Easy on humans, hard on bots" (however I think I operate more in a style of a bot but am human). Obviously I see no evidence anywhere to show that it is easy on humans, that is all humans including me having Asperger's:rotfl:. What I saw as the contradiction I saw elsewhere in this was, I think, as it was some months ago, that it said in one part of the site that it was easy but in another said that not all of the quesrions are straightforward - some are harder than others. In other words, they are not easy!!:rotfl::rotfl: Come on, make your mind up, which one of the two is it?:p

(Thought I was about to get the security check screen again as I clicked "Go advanced" again to add the icon to this post. But I suppose I did pass the check a few moments ago, so it might let me off for a bit again now.)

I bet no-one else gets the check screen or, if they do, they get it rarely, far less often than me? Therefore it is a disadvantage on me which treats me less favourably!

This is because, it could be said, they are not treating all people who have disabilities the same - or actually treating them differently in order to remove any barriers that they have that others in practice don't face. It could then be argued that the service provided by Google is discriminatory in this way and that they should have considered and thought about these things in advance and made it so that their system did not work in this way, in advance of any disabled person using their service, in order to make reasonable adjustments. Hmm...

I think it's possible that use by MSE could be exempt, because does not sell things to me through its website and therefore isn't a service provider (don't know - depends on whether exemption in Schedule 3 applies or not) it's possibly the case that had I been American and the Americans with Disabilities Act applied - it probably does apply if any person in America accesses this site (but obviously I have no cause of action) - it probably would be covered as discrimination within that although I don't know what the case from a few years ago now ended up with - the final result of that - however the service by Google, that uses reCAPTURA, is a more substantive thing as Google is involved in far more on the Internet than just having a website and probably means that they are providing a service or facility within the Equality Act.

It's just an example of what might be seen as another tiny discrimination or disadvantage or barrier that it seems likely wasn't even thought of let alone intended whether it is legal or not. I think if I were to contact them their reaction would be of a company that wanted to help and make things better.

I don't intend to accuse Google (or MSE) of anything and I'm not doing so. It's just something I've thought about and wondered again.

You've told us this before, numerous times, and it seems that people can't remember. Come on people, why don't you therefore now know this and know not to do it?

It seems people more generally are at the disadvantage of not remembering and having to be told again:rotfl:.

Thanks for the reminder that tells everyone else yet again! The "-21" is firmly lodged in my mind and has been for ages and will remain forever there. I would therefore never dream of posting such a thing and the reminder is therefore for everyone else, as I remember these things that no-one else does or doesn't seem to. However, I suppose even I could make an error and post one without thinking. I continue to endeavour not do so so though and thanks for the reminder on that which, I hope, will mean I don't.

Meanwhile it probably feels like being a broken record and I know how that feels. Don't have the satsumas! No, no, no!:rotfl:
