JTS. You do make me smile. You have retained such a wonderful sense of humour in spite of how you must feel at times probably a lot.

I was chatting with someone about possibly volunteering and said I was good at chatting with people I don!!!8217;t really know due to to my HR background. He said they did not want to be told what to do all you need was a good sense of humour. Therefore that!!!8217;s me ruled out :rotfl:

Westie. I am surprised by your last comment as you seem so switched on in your posts. Take care. If all else fails offer a prayer to St Anthony. Someone I worked with swore by it :D
  • I'm on airport pickup duty this morning. Checked airport Arrivals and OH's flight shown as expected 35 minutes late.
So decided to bake a "welcome back" cake. It's in the oven now.

Just checked airport Arrivals again - and the flight is now showing expected 1 minute early - So now I should be leaving for the airport before the cake is ready to come out of the oven :o

    Flat hand! :D:D:D

This is my theory on feeding horses.

If I just hold the carrot out with my finger tips he will only eat my fingers.

If I offer the carrot on the flat of my hand, he might bite my whole hand off.

You should see his teeth...they are yellow and massive:eek:

Quick mum update I may not answer your quotes but you deserve an update if I can get to end without crying again :(

Last Monday update at home mum in now she had been there 9 weeks

    Still not walking :(

Bro wasn't at meeting he working me and Aunty went :)
Mum was also there with social worker , a physio and 2 staff.

Decided mum needed to go in short stay carehome for 4 weeks not fit enough to go home still in wheelchair in home she in.

Social worker sent email to age uk lady asking if she could ring me and explain.

She rang but we decided it best if she visited .

She did Friday after work I was on my own did text bro telling him when she was visiting didn't hear back from him :(

Lady talked to me and I understand short stay may be longer stay or even permanent :(

Gave me 4 homes which catered for mums needs to try or get her back walking so she could go home
1 full but  wouldn't send Poppy there
Big top up fee one and another nearly as far away for me as one she in now .

Aunty away went Friday back tomorrow so she ringing me either today or tomorrow about meeting me to go visiting homes 2 near me but one got massive  top up fee which age woman said me and bro would have to pay its more than my weekly pay

We going visiting Tuesday after work as far as I know if aunty still being able to make it . They want mum out off home asap.

Have shown AJ the homes and we have put the same home at number one :)

Bro finally got in touch last night and left me in floods of tears which made our Poppy jump up next to me and she started licking my hand she my :A

Not even going into what bro said

I could easily have packed my bags and Poppy's last night and vanished without a trace. Thank goodness for DS , AJ and Cook at work .

    AJ and Cook are :A

Also got another Aunty , 1 mums neighbours and mum herself doing my head in could scream I am doing my best but seems the best isn't good enough I need to do more.

Have to go now tears about to start again.

Sorry if its higgildy piggildy and out of sorts bit like me at the moment

I received a Fitbit last week for my Birthday.

It's really good - when I'm watching TV it vibrates and reminds me to get up and do some steps.

So I go to the kitchen and back. That's 50 extra steps I wouldn't have done without the Fitbit - it's also an extra glass of wine/ ice cream/ cheese and crackers that I wouldn't have had :o

I have mine set so that 10 mins before the hour it reminds me if I've been inactive too long and how many more steps to do.

The app is good to work with as well

Mine has a very stylish silver bracelet, magnetic catch so easy to put on and off. I have problems with the charger though.
