So I went and had a measure and the non fitting mattress protector is only 15cm deep so it was an exercise in futility even imagining that I could get it on the bed :(

The mattress itself is 25cm so even though it looks deep its not super-deep, a 35cm mattress much be gorgeous to sleep on but impossibly heavy to manoever on bed changing day.

I didn't even realise there were 2 types - elastic and skirted ones like fitted sheets - this the good thing about the Elite - a cornucopia of usefulness :D

So at least I know what I am looking for now

I finally gritted my teeth and did the job I've been avoiding for nearly 2 months - I did a basic tidy up in Errant sons room yesterday - not a deep scrub but at least it looks tidier and you can see the floor and walk around the bed so that's the best I can do. The final job was remaking the bed but that was were I came unstuck wrestling with non co-operative mattress protectors.

Yes its week 7 already - Errant son went off to do his basic training at the start of May - scary how fast the time has gone. So far he has passed all of the various tests, assessments and assignments and today they have gone off on a day trip to see where they will be doing phase 2 training.

We have family weekend coming up when he is going to be home on a long weekend - although we are expecting him to head off into Wales for a couple of days rather than actually be home ...

Our mattress protector was from Sainsbury really good quality,, fitted with deep sides which are really stretchy. I don't like the top sheet ones as they don't stay on the mattress.

    Morning peeps.

The last one ones I bought only had elastic to hold them onto the bed i.e. No sides just 4 elastic corners. and I find it easier to remove and put back on. They were from Tesco
I second that. Elastic ones, so much better. I find the elasticated ones too large.

    Afternoon all.

Thought we were doing so well with the new curtains, only picked them up yesterday and today I've ironed them, Mr GK has shortened the new curtain pole and we have put them up:j:j

They were labelled as blackout and thermal in the shop, similarly on the Next website but... the light comes through them and I really don't think that the thin cotton lining is thermal:mad:

I'm flogging a dead horse if I expect the grumpy one to take them down again and they are the exact colour we want.

Think I'll have wander back to the store anyway and see what they say.

    Very busy not spending today!

Bubbs Hope mr bubbs is better today and that his job application will be accepted late I am sure there must be some sort of appeal process for a late submission

Sarah Hope Harley gets good news today

juju and Nellie Well done on the wins
Thanks, not really much better, the right leg looks drier but his legs and feet are so swollen:o
He got his application in yesterday online:T just a waiting game now, but if he hadnt applied the letter that he got said he would NOT get redundancy but they contact you now after the people that have been selected for the job to tell you you have not got it but he would hear from others first, dont seem right to me
I didn't watch the match. This period of time with the world cup, the rugby and the tennis coming up is like the seventh circle of hell for me.
    And me:eek:
