My family is growing and there is only me so I seem to spend a fortune. What I've done say for a family say sister bil and neice nephew is to spend the majority of the budget on the kids but still get the parents a token present. Need not be much.

Thanks, it's a bit awkward with my DD as she is my only one, so there's been a long history of over-indulgence, and I think even a token present is going to come across as a shock.

How much do you usually spend on her (roughly). I used to spend £40 per person for a few presents. When there is 5 in a family not only was it pricey I had to shop for them and then wrap them. It takes at least a day!!!! As total family will be 12 and then I buy for friends. It got ridiculous so many presents everywhere so we set a limit within the family exchange. It does help.

If you can say it after this Christmas next year their should be a budget. Or something.

    Good luck!

I'm about to embark on 28 days straight of work, so here's a mahoosive cake to celebrate the birthdays I've missed and the ones yet to pass by the end of this year

Also if you're going to Ideal Home Christmas on the Wednesday or Thursday, say hello! :rotfl:
