  • I'm glad some people managed to make use of the H&B :-). I didn't partake myself this time as they did a similar offer a couple of months ago and I still have a cupboard full of dried fruit, nuts and pulses!

They used to send out emails about 8.30 on a Wednesday morning but I've not been getting them recently. other than that I've got a calendar reminder for Wednesday mornings so I just log on, purse and credit cards at the ready and keep refreshing until something shows up

Oddly I was in Holland Barret on oxford Street yesterday, very very rare for me to go to H&B, getting something vaguely healthy (I managed to avoid MCds) as I'd forgot to eat breakfast or bring supplies with me  - I just thought everything in H&B was very expensive. What I should have been doing was checking out the fruit, nuts, museli, granola and porridge for suitable items for a £20 shop!

I remember you saying last week you didn't get an email, I got one last week but I didn't this week.

I had been in H&B this morning looking at how much the nuts and seeds were compared to The Grape Tree. DD had already done a big shop in Grape Tree for the berries, seeds and nuts but had not got any oats and forgot Brazil Nuts. Mr TS eats brazils after a workout so I have gone for 4 bags of the organic ones as they were buy one get one for a penny. He prefers organic, DD is not fussy but it made them cheaper than non organic.

I also got the big 1kg bags of organic oats for £1.99, I usually buy in Tesco £1.60 for 750g so this works out slightly cheaper. And the added bonus of spending in M&S :D

Marks had a good offer very this year - £6 meal deal which was a main, side and a dessert - quite good value and some very useful items. If you started from scratch you could not make anything for £2.
There was a chicken and vegetable pie that fed 3 of us, peach roulade that sliced thinly fed 4 people with nice vanilla ice cream, sticky toffee pudding that fed 3 of us with ice cream potato croquettes that I froze either for a side with sausages or as a brunch item ...
Needless to say its not popped up again.

So, how much do you lot pay for a wet cut and blow dry please?

I had my hair cut yesterday. Came out of the salon feeling like a million dollars, beautifully straightened hair and a full fringe. Too late for photos  I awoke this morning to real bad 'bed hair' . Fringe? What fringe? I have no fringe, needs wetting down and fussed over to entice it back into place
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

For anyone who missed the H&B but wants some nuts, Sainsbobs has lowered the prices of their own 100g now £1.15 and 200g now £2.00 bags of brazils.

That's loads cheaper than I have paid. :o

I did notice when I had a nose around for bargains in my local this morning there were loads of red SELS saying "New Lower Price".

I have wayward curly hair which I have cut myself for years (I used to cut the whole families but due to lack of time I only cut my family's hair).
