I haven't tackled tights and socks yet, but have sorted gloves, scarves and hats! I appear to have 40+ pairs of gloves:eek:
Mind you over half are vintage, may sell one day. Surplus is going to homeless charity.
Sorted toiletries (again!)
I also pulled everything out onto the bed.
I've boxed up the new 'good' make up, decided that I will use some of the good toiletries, what am I keeping them for? and have filled 2 carrier bags that I will take to my friend tonight who is collecting for some local community groups. A few things set aside for Christmas gifts.
I now have 1 empty large storage box and some room to manoeuvre in the cupboards.
If you could seperate the vintage gloves then they could go into the storage box and back in the cupboard for now - might be good for a winters day, to do some listing on ebay
But that still leaves 20 pairs of gloves which ammounts to an abnormal glove obsession
Half of my shower gel stash is under the stairs so I am thinking it would be logical to move them to be with stuff in the wardrobe shelves. This would then give me another spare drawer in readiness for whatever might glitch next - ideally deodarant or toothpaste
Doing the socks and tights yesterday was quite satisfying - there is actually a little space in the basket now so if I come across some jazzy colours in sales I can indugeAnd just being able to put my hand on socks this morning without having to root them out was very time saving.
I am also using the 'good toiletries' - as you say who else will but us. Using them makes us feel much better about ourselves so why not. I've got the best toiletries in my chest of drawers for personal consumption - boys have free reign of everything else
I also need to go under the bed again to see if any more streamlining can be done. I got a new mattress in August for the guest bed which is very thick and heavy so now fetching anything out is very labour intensive and involves moving furniture into the corridor and moving the bed into the middle of the room etc - I try and get washing up liquid, fabric conditioner etc out, enough for a month so I dont have to go through this performance too often
New spare make up is catergory I've not tackled yet. I did come across a charity in Wales that supplies womens refuges but you have to pay for posting the package yourself but this seems to be the most obvious place to donate to.
I've got two of those Ikea wooden drawer sets with 6 mini drawers in each so most of the make up stash is neat, might be an area to tackle when I've run out of other sections to tackle.
Oddly yesterday I went into the airing cupboard and I found a plastic box with a very random selection of stuff - no idea what it was doing there or why. I tipped the contents up, mostly it was charity bag stuff which made no sense as I tend to put stuff straight into a collection bag. Also some items for cloth recycling which again I usually do as I go along. Then I realised the empty plastic box was familar and it turned out to be the missing bottom drawer of the drawer unit under the stairs - missing for about 5 years
So 2 more bags to the charity shop today and a wine box of bric a brac in progress“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Well, they're home, three diced steaks, a copy of the Times, four bags of nuts and a coffee. £7.96
Many thanks.
No magazine or the drinks magazine???
those together are worth £4 so you could have left the nuts for another day“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Good morning all
Thank you Redfox for a new home for us.
Happy birthday to all who are celebrating!
Coupon in today's metro for a free Quaker oats squares from Coop, page 5, valid for 3 days.
My local coop has run out by 8.30am!
I have very nice Co ops who very cheerfully took the coupons - OH is very pleased as he eats this type of thing as breakfast -its all too much effort for him to put cereal in a bowl and add milk
We went to another CO op on the way home to get the 2nd flavour and at the till there was hot cross buns and tea cakes reduced to 25p :T (we very rarely have proper yellow label reductions so finding 3 things for 25p calls for a national day of celebrations:) )
I used my NUS discount card and my new blue co op card, first run out with this and I had 27p to pay as the discount applied to everything :T
I still miss the mass usage of MOCs“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Morning
Just had email from Argos testers.
Its for a mop or sweeper:D
sadly none for me- pity as I could have written a very meaningful review, my current mop is the string version and it has one string left so I have to do floors on hands and knees
I did though have a survey thingy from out pale friends north of the border, checked the criteria and then the survey to find it had closed - the email only came home an hour earlier “Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Always felt LH was an arrogant shyster...you have now confirmed it!
Afternoon ALL![/QUOTE]
Oh my Mr L you do disappoint me....
I suspect in the same way that our lovely Majesty has a set of financial advisor's...LH has his own set who would have been the ones to advise him.....hopefully you don't connect our monarch in the same tone you now refer to LH....I would even hazzard a guess that he is no more able to financially understand his wealth than many other thrust into the same position.
Poor advisories both of them had........
although I do perhaps agree that with a lot of the high powered sporting stars there is an air of arrogance about them....maybe because they are focused or driven to succeed perhaps?
But then everyone is entitled to an opinion.....
and as you know I'm never afraid or will shy away from challenging it!!!!!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -

Ta for this - Oh is in Brum tommrow and he knows where the relevant Greggs is.He has a low opinion of Greggs festive bake but I said to him that in the city centre it would be easy to find someone in a doorway who would appreciate one“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
