... so I went onto the complaints section of BeeTee website and it says chat is the best way to contact them, so I did on that page. I have been informed that I am only liable for the delivery cost (£9.99) and line rental for the 14 days, not the line install cost . So a third version of the advice and costs involved. I asked them to confirm their advice was accurate in case of further issues - I have a complaints reference and she has added a note to my account. So, who do I trust - this final advice from the complaints team or the earlier advice ...

Turning off old forum versions
Work to switch the forum to HTTPS needs to be done on all versions (skins) of the forum. To reduce the time and resource it takes to make the switch we need to switch off some of those old forum skins and migrate the forum members who are on them to a newer skin (the one prior to the new blue skin). This will affect around 1,000 of you. You will still be on an old, green version of the Forum and will, of course, still be able to choose to switch to the newest, blue version if you decide to. We’re sorry this may affect your use of the Forum. Our priority, though, has to be the security of the site.
thats all the elite then. :rotfl:0 -

Quick advice please ... my ongoing BeeTee / V1rgin saga ...
.
So I cancelled Bee Tee yesterday as we decided to return to V1rgin - this is wihtin the 14 day cooling off period. They have just informed me I will face up to £200 charges . I read the costs of installing the line may be due and the T& Cs at the time - however, I went on online chat last week and asked about the cooling off period and explicitly whether there were any charges as they had installed the line. The chat person went off to check and confirmed no, as it was within the 14 days. I have had quite a heated discussion within one of the cancellation team who has basically said the chat operative was wrong, it was misinformation but the contract is clear and therefore the fees are liable . This is despite me making the decision to return to V1rgin and cancel BeeTee on the basis of what she said.
Any ideas? I can always cancel may cancellation if it is going to cost more than keeping it live ....

I have had numerous problems with BT faffing about with my charges and I absolutely hate the eastern call centre lot ! I have had to go to Head office several times and have had some success with 01277 326261. That gets you through (usually) to a voice mail service for one of the senior staff - who usually get on the case pretty quickly when you explain how they have messed you about. Might be worth a try ?ELITE 5:2
