Overcharged at @'s today for some Robinson's drink. Casually asked if they still give gift cards for overcharges and was told' yes, (whispers) but only if you ask'.
They've been told to stop giving them out and only when 'prompted'. :rotfl::rotfl:
Was given £4 back as I had two separate flavours. Didn't know that.0 -

Quick advice please ... my ongoing BeeTee / V1rgin saga ...
.
So I cancelled Bee Tee yesterday as we decided to return to V1rgin - this is wihtin the 14 day cooling off period. They have just informed me I will face up to £200 charges . I read the costs of installing the line may be due and the T& Cs at the time - however, I went on online chat last week and asked about the cooling off period and explicitly whether there were any charges as they had installed the line. The chat person went off to check and confirmed no, as it was within the 14 days. I have had quite a heated discussion within one of the cancellation team who has basically said the chat operative was wrong, it was misinformation but the contract is clear and therefore the fees are liable . This is despite me making the decision to return to V1rgin and cancel BeeTee on the basis of what she said.
Any ideas? I can always cancel may cancellation if it is going to cost more than keeping it live ....

Did you keep a copy of the chat?
If you did I would tell them that forms a contract. Not sure if it does or not but worth a try.
Sorry, no other real advice unless there is something on the phone board on here?
In our experience BT will try to charge even if there is not a chargeable event. More than once we have had to write to them on behalf of customers because they have tried to charge them for line faults, one time they said they were charging because of an internal cable fault when the only point in the house was the incoming line point so no internal cabling. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Oh anon I feel for you, cannot really give any advice I am sorry, but any dealings with bt leaves me feeling like I have lost the will to live, honestly believe they try to p you off in the hope you'll give up, but I am a bit like a dog with a bone :rotfl:The person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0 -
I am considering cancelling V1rgin and sticking with them now, as the person I spoke to said that whatever was said on chat was unfortunate and misinformation/an error, but the contract is very clear (and to be fair, the contract is clear when you go back and read it). They said they could raise a complaint, but they had checked with their manager and their advice was correct (funny that, I understood the chat person's advice was correct ...
) - and if I did complain, it would go to the ombudsman but they would likely say the contract was clear anyway.
Most annoying - sorry for the ongoing saga.

Yes I kept screenshots of the chat and even read it out to them but to no avail. The CS even went through highlighting the costs they had incurred installing it and therefore why you are still liable for them!
