That's the one thing I don't like about retirement, given that Grumpy is still working, albeit part time, the 'expectation' that I will cook! Don't get be wrong, I enjoy cooking, but not every day!

No I lied, there are 2 things, when I worked he did 90% of the ironing, lucky if he does 5% now:mad:

MY SD had the Patisserie De Bain gift set which were like 9 rose buds in a grid - for putting in baths. its been there a week or 2 now but it was still £1.99 - I didn't go in today to check again.
I've been very tempted - not sure though if they would still be as pretty after 10 months of storage prior to Christmas ...

Probably worth also checking out the referrals board or PMing any of the Elite who already have an amex to see if their referral is worth more.

If you go via Head for Points as well and email the chap he will send you a worthwhile link - that's how I started.

Good morning. I love hearing people's stories about how they discovered the elite. I'd been on mse for years andvthen held a conversation with my good friend YELLOWBIRD  and she told me how to find it. I had actually already discovered it as I wondered why a thread about something that had been and gone was so popular but whenni did have a read it didn't make much sense....some things don't change :rotfl:

So how did you discover the elite and what made you finally decide to register?
DM that sounds like one of the questions they ask at the dinner table, get practising :rotfl:
I had already registered before the elite discovery as I wanted to thank mad Muppet for all the coupons etc he brought to the coupon thread.

I stumbled across it by accident:) I kept seeing the word Elite and curiosity finally got the better of me and I took a peep. I read for ages before I signed up.....maybe a year. I used to say to Mr TM....” The people on this thread are living on nowt” but I couldn’t really get the hang of it. Much of it seemed in code:rotfl:

It reached a point where I began to feel I was stalking you all:o I knew lots about your lives and loved the camaraderie and friendliness.

So I posted:) I think AJ welcomed me first, then lots of others and I’ve never left really:)

I shadowed lots of the glitches for ages before I jumped in with both feet. Unsure if I ever mentioned it, but you will recall the lager glitch in S. I honestly can’t remember what it was called but we were getting it nearly free I think :rotfl: It was the first time I really had a serious go at a glitch.

On my first visit, I reached up to the top shelf to get a pack of the lager. I was so nervous that it fell out of my hands and smashed all over the floor. It fell from such a height that the glass flew right up the aisle in both directions. It nearly put paid to my elite journey:rotfl:

Nearly but not quite, thank goodness:D
