Thank you for this. DH and I kind of decided we would like older children. My Dh's son's came to live with us on the guidance of SS, and now DSS (17) is off to uni next year, already passed his driving test and basically a well rounded boy:rotfl:. Not really too worried about going in to our past, I have had the same job for 13 years now:eek: Go to work, come home hopefully flit out glitching:D, little kids that are at home go to school everyday, never late always clean and well fed:)Hi,
I have just been turned down with a private foster company, but they did mention that if i did smoke then they would not allow under 5's in the house. Not sure on local council policy but i was warned to stay away from our local authority.
It would take about 6 months for the application to go through and they go through all your life and your partners life history, addresses, job history etc.
I didn't get that far and i understand why i was turned down but the forms looked very indepth.

We'd really like to give other children the life our own children have received. Holidays, camping, theme parks, stability and a normal life. We have even spoken to our children to make sure they would be ok with it - they got really excited:beer:
What are the sort of things that they would turn you down for?
Thank you, this is what we would like to achieve. We have one remaining dog after our dear Poppy passed on last year, she is as soft as anything - more like a newborn baby:eek: and 2 cats who do their own thing most of the time - they do keep bringing me presents:eek::eek:
My neighbours have put in to foster their Grandchild, but they have to go through process for fostering any child.
Medicals, 3 character references each, their home & their dogs inspected. We were referees & had to be interviewed.
Good luck - I have a friend who fosters & has raised some lovely children, who still come back & stay long after they have left for further education 0 0

There is a blanket ban of people who smoke and caring for under 5's.
Sorry you were not successful, there is a desperate shortage of foster carers.
The process for friends and family carers is easier then going through the normal assessment process.100

Tweets, did you see on the news last night that Dubai did a lovly display of lighting the tallest building, and China released balloons. Isn't that so much better then fireworks. I've signed petitions to ban fireworks as so many animals are frightened by the noise. I live near a vet hospital and I always think of the poor animals there. :A
Hope next year brings some more restrictions on letting off fireworks.
The only trouble with balloons is that they dont rot down. So many programmes showing marine life with stomachs full of plastic.
I have pets but feel a few fireworks have a shorter impact long term.0
