nearlysorted wrote: »Good afternoon and happy new year everyone:D
My resolution for the year will try to be to contribute (even if only a little more:o)
My husband and I are looking to get a tighter reign on our finances, as this year we want to look in to fostering, and ideally I would like to quit my job - I [STRIKE]hate[/STRIKE] get no job satisfaction and would rather do something that would be much more rewarding. I was wondering whether there are any foster carers out there who could give us some insight? I/We feel like we are good parents, we have our priorities right - (the only downside is that I do smoke, but have never smoked in my house or car) and I would never put smoking against something my kids might want or need. We are not 'old' 39 and 37 (I have a toyboy:eek:) DSS is off to uni next year and oldest DS is living with my Mum because he thinks she's lonely:rotfl:, we will have 2 spare bedrooms and 2DS's and a DD still at home.
Could anyone give me an insight as to what I could be letting myself in for? or whether we would even be approved?
Thanking you in advance:D
Hi,
I have just been turned down with a private foster company, but they did mention that if i did smoke then they would not allow under 5's in the house. Not sure on local council policy but i was warned to stay away from our local authority.
It would take about 6 months for the application to go through and they go through all your life and your partners life history, addresses, job history etc.
I didn't get that far and i understand why i was turned down but the forms looked very indepth.

My neighbours have put in to foster their Grandchild, but they have to go through process for fostering any child.
Medicals, 3 character references each, their home & their dogs inspected. We were referees & had to be interviewed.
Good luck - I have a friend who fosters & has raised some lovely children, who still come back & stay long after they have left for further educationOur Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

You are first on the burns list
Did you stick finger in mouth quick ?
Hope you didn't burn your mouth if you did
Ooh! I've never been on an Elite list before - thank you :A
I was too busy swearing to stick it in my mouth
At last Christmas I received a pressure cooker from OH - I had actually asked her for a pressure washer, but never mind
I got reminded this Christmas that it's still in its box. So I am looking for a good book for pressure cooking recipes. I would be most grateful for any recommendations - thanks :beer:Fighting Recurring Cancer0 -

Just to say todays Heinz shop worked, didn't get any beans, as don't like them, with or without sausages. so just be careful now Asda House has seen my receipt from yesterdays shop and know what the apg was, in-case the glitch stops.
Think I need to hand in my Elite Badge.
No don’t hand in badge! Not your fault.0 -
