If redfox is around perhaps she would let us know if it is possible to change the thread more often,or is it something that will be discouraged because it is deemed that there is sufficient storage space on the server and we need to continue with the everlasting thread....
The latter.
Added to that it would bring a return of the "who starts the thread" and "what to call it" arguments as well as the necessity for the important information posts always to be kept in position and the difficulties that can entail. Trying to do that every month would be a logistical nightmare.
Having an everlasting thread was an improvement so I can't see there would be any appetite for returning to a thread changing at 10k posts or even worse, changing every month!0 -

Thank you for your input Redfox....
The idea of going back to something that changed every now and again has simply come about because some of us on the thread feel that large chunks of conversation can't be recalled from the previous thread that was deleted when it became spammed.
We've lost Sal and a lot of the posts she made at that time....some may have like to revisit those now and sadly they now can't....
What is the problem of asking you to set a quarterly new thread for us ?
Locarr has suggested that the idea was dismissed previously by the BG's....and probably at the time the reasoning wasn't fully explored...there are clearly posters who would like it to happen.....
If you read my suggestion earlier it was to return to something that was archived quarterly and started by you to avoid conflict...hopefully a sort of compromise between what we previously had and now have.
not once have I suggested that you are put to the onerous task of compiling a new thread on a monthly basis!
Will you help us achieve it.....or is it a case of finding a board guide who may be more willing to accommodate the request going forward?frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
