Quick question, can i use ordinary flour to thicken a sauce and not cornflour as dont have any please and thanks

Best to blend plain flour carefully with soft butter to make a sort of thick paste. Then add a bit at a time and mix well.

My ma used to thicken everything with plain flour, she mixed it with water in a cup then added it very very slowly.

  • I have been so tempted by these pork pies with cranberry topping, especially in their red and white Xmas packaging, but I refuse to pay almost double the price, so I have bought normal ones and will be cutting little circles from the lids, adding a spoonful of cranberry, and replacing the lids. :money:

    Good evening all.

Droid - only a £20 restaurant voucher today - no C0sta :(. I do have “a few” already so cannot really complain :D.

I am looking forward to tomorrow as a day off - keeping up with deals is tiring!

I haven’t even ventured to a L0ndis for Kronenbourg and unlikely to find time now with the Christmas Eve routine. Ah well :(.
